To my eyes, a PV or a mod in our case is a “device”. Yes, good if it’s “good looking” but I appreciate more the functionality rather than the beauty.
Part of the functionality, for me, is how easy is to built it, maintain it and the service offered. A plastic box is easy to modify, to manipulate and later on, is disposable which won’t be hard because of the cost.

I’ve finished boxes that were working perfectly until the last layer of glue, then it didn’t work… I just made another one; that easy.

If you are afraid about breaking it, then you can reinforce it, use epoxy in the corners and, believe it or not, it will make it way sturdier.
Plastic boxes are easy to find and cheap. To be honest, for a great looking mod, since I vape because I like it and I don’t smoke but it is not my hobby, I buy it; but I prefer to save my money and time for my real hobbies while I vape in a plastic so-so looking box.

Just my 2 cents.

Was looking for type of box better than abs plastic for modding. If it was metal i could use a battery holder inside. like the 2 aa and the 3 aa sizes but the abs plastic breaks to easy if you drop them.

Those Radio Shack black battery boxes are pretty tough. All of my mods are made with them. I have dropped them countless times with no problem at all.

I was working on my car one night and had it sitting under the car hood by the headlight. I forgot it was there and slammed the hood. I realized when the hood slammed, it didn't go down and made one heck of a noise when it came down. Something was holding it up. After lifting the hood... ahhh crap. It was my e-cig mod. But to my surprise, the box was not hurt at all. The only thing broke was my whistle tip.

I juiced up another tip, popped it on and vaped away. This also gives testimony that atomizers are tougher than you think because my mod was sitting with the tip up. The hood slammed right down on it. Broke the tip but everything else was in perfect shape.

So those boxes are tougher than you think.
