It won't hurt anything in my opinion. Heck I have a .7 ohm coil and it is set at 13 watts for a real cool vape going on 1 1/2 weeks and haven't even had to change the wick yet still looks nice and white, but I am using unflavored at the moment so it does stay gunk free with that liquid.

Discussions usually impart the dangers associated with going too high in watts/volts but are there problems with going below recommended allowances? Just because the maker says you should vape between 30 and 40 watts, can I do any harm to the coil or more specifically, to my mod if I want to vape at 20?

No.

No problem at all health wise which can be an issue with going too high in power (watts). And no, you can't do any harm to the coil or the mod either.

What could happen if you go too far with this is you end up flooding the coil after a while because you're not putting enough power into the coil to vaporize the juice as fast as it's coming in because the wicking is designed to be adequate at higher power levels.

Ultimately, if it's working for you and you like it, vape on my friend :)
