It's been awhile since I've been over here :D. I've been using a Russian clone (I like to refer to it as a CRusssian ) for the past 6 months or so. It's been running fine; but after numerous falls/drops, it's no longer threading onto my SS Vamo. The strange thing is, if I put a 510-ego adapter on the Vamo (the 'ego' part of the adapter is also 510 threaded) the CRussian threads into the adapter with no problem.

Is anyone coming out with a rta with ego threading? The wimpy little 510 connection was great for the 1st gen atties/cartos; but with the larger RBAs it's just that - wimpy.

I think that having the ego connection w/ the 510 is part of the problem, now that so many mods are using inset 510 connections and flush mount connections, which is the standard 510 connection like a mech mod, they're really quite strong. The ego connection requires that the connection protrude from the mod I believe (been a while since I used one) and unless it's a really flimsy 510 or the threads are tapped incorrectly, it's a very strong connection and in my opinion, a flush mounted and properly adjusted 510 or one with a floating center pin so the atty sits correctly on the 510 connection is stronger than an ego connection even though it's smaller in diameter.

A lot of mods are using the fat daddy vapes 510 connection, if you want to look at one to get an idea what they look like flush mounted. The ego connection requiring protrusion seems to me like for durability, even though it's bigger it's also a point of leverage in the case of a drop/fall. I do a lot of engineering related work so I realize my opinions may often be ... backwards from most, and I may have just not seen a really high quality ego connection. Even on my HexOhm mod which is an older version where the 510 connector is nothing like the new ones with fat daddy vapes style connectors, it's more sturdy than the ego connections I've seen. While it's not flush with the mod against the RDA bottom, the bottom of the RDA flushes up with the connector and distributes some of the force/impact/torque etc.
