I quit cigarettes about two years ago, but I picked up a cigar habit. I was smoking about 5-6 cigarillos a day on weekends. I honestly don't care about the nicotine - I just like to smoke. I work and think better when multi-tasking.

About a month ago I my wife's constant complaining about the smell finally lead me to ecigs. I bought a starter kit of xl808's from myvaportstore.com after trying out some Blu disposables from Walgreens. I've already realized some mistakes, and I have some questions.

Mistakes:
1) I bought full pv eliquid sans nicotine from china - smells good, tastes like garbage, burns my throat, little vapor
2) I started watching grimmgreen's vids and I can't help but feel that 808 was a bad choice due to lack of compatibility with mods

Questions:
1) PRIMARY ISSUE - are there any good auto switch batts? I'm not satisfied with the manual battery. Call me lazy, but I really like to just sit and suck while doing other things, mainly grilling and gaming. Neither one of those is fun with a manual batt. I'm thinking about purchasing this: Ecigbestsave: Joye 510 Auto 220mAh Kits, Joye 510 Auto Starter Kit
2)Mu experience so far has been 0 throat hit and little vapor. Is this because of the cheap 808's or the cheap liquid?

For auto bats, V4L has some with long cut off time (10 sec & 808 style) vapeshot.com has good ones in my experience, these are 510 style threading. Both of these are "slim" type batteries that I'm recommending.

Throat hit can be improved with higher nic levels. Much of the juice that's sold is made in China. Johnson Creek has good juice and is made in the U.S. They also manufacture juice for some of the e-cig brands.

what he said above. I believe your issue is more with the juice than the PV. the 808 model is great for their auto batteries. Some that are really popular are the Volt by smokeless Image and Bloog. Both of these use newer technology for their batteries and cartomizers.

As far as juice, you really need Nicotine to get a good throat hit. The nicotine combined with pg is what makes you feel it. Most of us start with a higher nicotine, about 18mg is good. And decrease from there as we get further from our smoking habit.

The 510 auto isn't any better of a battery than what you have. I'd investigate the juice situation first. Look around the site for recommendations and reviews. If you feel like you want to try it, go ahead. Otherwise, you will be jumping from PV to PV looking for that throat hit.
Good luck....kick ....!!!!

The only thing better than what you have is a bigger battery. They make 808 to 510 adapters as well, if you want to experiment with different cartomizers and atomizers

#1 Smokeless Image has both sealed/unsealed batts, see their forum here;

#2 Probably a combination of both, a better battery may give you what you're looking for, the liquid was probably a Chinese Dekang, which some seem to prefer. You may also want to look at some of the other suppliers here;

thats something I would like to add. your battery just provides the power. Its the cartomizers that bring life to the machine. Horizontal cartomizers are really good on 808s & Pick up some 901 atomizers because they do well on 808s with no adapter required. You can test juices out with the atomizer before you fill up your cartomizers. We'll be there to help you with that if you go that way. I would say try that. If you still aren't happy and you still can't kick ...., we may have to help you selecting a bigger battery but after the xls, the only way to go up is a larger fattery style. It's not as scary as it sounds. I have one. i also still have a ciggy style 808 that I enjoy

Man, I know exactly what you need. I was you not long ago. I can TRUELY recomend an HS Echo 650mah.

Reasons-
1) About the same size as a cigar
2)650 mah battery(mah=basicaly the measurement of how long you can vape- in lay mens terms)
A)650 will lst you about a days worth of vaping
B)Not too big and heavy to hold in your mouth for hands free(auto)vaping just like your stogies
C)Last a long time before craping out (8-12 months minimum)
3)Excellent refill cartomizers. In fact some of the very best. Better than Ego.
A)They hold 3ml of liquid.
B)They don't leak
C)Can be refilled easily
D)Last forever
4)Vapor production is truely amazing(just like a stogie)
5)Easy draw inhale(no head ache from sucking)
6)Look great

You will need a drip tip to bite on because the rubber ones fall out, but thats just a few bucks.

Do yourself a favor and look up HS Echo e cig reviews. You will love what you read and see.

PLEASE don't buy an Ego or any other Ego style without looking at the Echo first.

Look at the different vendors and find a good price. Seems they are all good people.

Mega 510 Automatic Battery, Blue LED I have 3 of those I bought late last summer/early fall..they hold up ok..in the last couple weeks I've had minor issues with 2 of them because of fluid getting in them but cleaning totally fixed one the other is hit and miss..that is to be expected with autos but these have held up pretty well..I use them when my hands are busy a lot and I use my 2nd fav flavor on them all day.

I think they are a good deal and have got my moneys worth and 2 out of 3 work just as good as new still. the 3rd still has a good battery but drawing on it sometimes works sometimes doesn't and sometimes I just have to draw harder..it's because juice got in the auto switch and why some don't use auto batteries..IDK if you have 510 carts/atomizers but if you buy them you will need them...

/watching out for keysbum to come in

KR808D-1 is just a name for the connection from battery to atomizer or cartomizer. Yes, there are some setups that are only available on a specific connection (510, KR808, etc.), but that's why they make adapters - Mods - E-Cig Multi Adapters

What really matters with a battery is the voltage, and it is regulated or not. It's what you attach to the battery that really counts (atty or carto) and what you are vaping i.e. da joose.

that 650 echo really is just like smoking a cigar. It's my favorite pv of the moment. You can pick up some cigar flavored e-juice as well. Here's the link to a good echo. ECH0 650 Black - $39.95 : Cropduster901!, Home of the B-52
It's for the black one but you can get them in chrome and stainless. The kit comes with two batteries, two 3ml cartomizers, and a usb charger with wall adapter.

We will get you a decent pv, that's the easiest part but non of it matters if you don't enjoy the juice you are using.

(and no, spaceballs, you still can't have one.......)

binomialbarley7 - Cheap liquid is the reason you don't like the vape. The battery you have is fine, as I am sure the cartos that come with it are as well.
Good juice or pre-filled cartos make a world of difference. Note: Once a pre-filled carto is empty, you can refill it with your own juices.

You can increase throat hit by 1)increasing PG (which you already have 100% PG liquid), 2)increase battery voltage (yours is 4.2V on a full charge and dwindles down to ~3.4V when it needs a recharge), 3)use lower resistance cartos (yours are probably around 3.0 ohm, and you can safely go as low as 2.5 ohm on your current battery), and 4)increase nic content (which you don't want).

You can increase vapor production by increasing VG.

I think you will be happy once you get some decent pre-filled cartos and some decent juice. Good cartos can be found at Bloog, SmokelessImage, and even V2(come at me brah!). The cartos from these vendors are great for refilling over and over once they are empty. That's when you can fill them with some good juice from small U.S. based mixers. Copper Creek, Backwoods Brew, Alien Visions, Virgin Vapors, Mom and Pop's, Vermillion River, KickBassVapor,........the list goes on. Of course, there are quite a few who enjoy their Dekang juices also.

I like pipe bombs. No Auto switches. You push a button to set off a bomb, you don't suck on it.

Is this how you carry your gear around town?

Geez, no one mentioned the craziest little autobat to come out lately. There isn't another autobat on the market that even comes close.
You would want two of them to be a starter kit.
THE SD KEY RING E-CIG BY TROG (510 threaded)
And, don't just toss the cartos away because you don't like the flavor. They are a great carto when you switch them over to a flavor you like.

I have various 0 nic juices that I use on various PVs. Unfortunately you will not have throat hit without nicotine. Sometimes, with certain flavors, I enjoy that though. Many people think pg delivers more TH and I do say that all the time but actally, the PG just does a better job of delivering that nicotine throat hit.

Thanks everyone. This is really helpful. That key ring looks ridiculous - I have to have one! I already have some ce2 xl 808 cartos. Will the key ring accept an adapter?
