Anyone still rockin the 901? It seems like its fading into obscurity.

It seems all the rage is 510s, LR 306s and what not.

However I must admit my favorite atty is the standard SLB 901. They are just so versatile and durable you can't go wrong. They work good at 3.7 and really come to life at 5-6 volts.

I was an avid user of the Joye 510 but they seemed to crap out after a couple weeks. A 901 seems to last me at least a couple months on my Prodigy. They hold up well even at higher voltage.

The 901 conenction IMO is the best out there , there are adapters to EVERYTHING 901-4081,510,801,808 etc.
It has a good sized thread is robust and common . 510's are horrible IMO , super small non standard thread size , internal threads that are prone to strip , way tighter tolerance is needed for them as well plus adapters suck for them IMO >

I like the 901 fits all my needs

i LOVE my riva 901!

The flavour is awesome, LR atties give good vape, I can choke myself with it if I want to so thats enough vape for me!

I'm not 100% sure about the batteries though, I've had one 'go' and another has a problem. LF were really cool and replaced them, they said the manufacturer says not to put them in the charger with the charger 'on' - I love LF anyway so I'd forgive them for anything but they replaced the batteries so I'm double happy.

Oh and ps don't screw the battery in too hard into the charger! Wifey done that and when she unscrewed the connector came out attached to the battery. Now I make sure I squeeze real tight on the connector bit when I screw the battery in (from looking at it I see the connector isn't round, it has some edges that stop it from spinning, but its only plastic holding it there which can stress outwards so if you squeeze it that stops it from being able to spin anywhere)

I vape strawberry which is a pretty light flavour - I've tried it on the 510's and its not really that sweet compared to the 901. If you vape a stronger flavour and want more vape then I guess go for the 510, but if you want massive flavour and a decent amount of vape then stick with the 901 (IMHO)

The cone does make a difference with light flavours IMHO - but I use the 510 cone on the 901 because the 510 cone is longer and gives a slightly tighter draw. The only thing I've noticed with this is that long vapes can heat up the LR atty more - more than enough to melt the cart plastic whoooops :) - well my drip tips will be here soon! ;)

When I started I was a 510 vaper all the way, but the more I vape the more I find myself using 901s. They seem to give better flavor, especially on the subtler juices. I agree about the standard SLB 901s, at 5 volts they rock, good vapor, great flavor.

Try some of BWB's Casablanca on a 901 atty at 5 volts, the complexity of the juice really shines. I love Cisco LR 306s also. I don't know why I haven't thought of trying the 901s before, but I am going to rectify that oversight right now though.

I need to check into that. I bet those would work awesome on a KR8 batt.... although they might kill the battery sooner.

If it is a manual battery go for it, if it an automatic...stay away far far away as the 901 is very temperamental as far as leakage goes and may kill an automatic battery in record time.

901 LR is very versatile indeed, as mentioned by the OP and certainly not as 'moody' as 510s... It is my atty of choice for when out and about; Im a direct-dripper myself, and this atty seems to be the most consistent and reliable that you can get; it may not be perfect in every aspect and outperformed by many (in specific aspects), but it is certainly a DECENT-performance atty which happens to be very reliable and of a GENERAL excellent funcionality; and its behavior is much more 'predictable' than a 510.
It certainly leaks but if you are 'coned' or similar this is a no-problem... And it does not clogg or saturate as most 510...
So, it is the ultimate choice for the dripper, I guess...!
(Of course 306 is the KING in my book, but the 901 is better for when 'on the go'....)

love me some 901's as well. They are by far underrated. They r like the Lennox Lewis of boxing. Like the Stan Musial of baseball. Like the Sterling Sharpe of football. Like the....U get the point.

Empire mods has a drip shield that is supposed to take care of the leaking also. I don't have one yet, but will be getting one soon. U 901 users out there might want to take a look at it if you have not yet.

Is there some place that has a 4081 batt to 901 atty connector? I'm thinking about suggesting smokestik to someone... expensive but good battery life for a mini from what I understand.

I got one 901 HV from Ikenvape and love it. People told me that 901 was even harder to use than 801's but that hasn't been the case at all. 801's are a huge mess (guess I drip too much) every time I use them, but 901 is easy, good hits and no mess ever.

Not that I have an "eGo", but I was personally responsible for the decline of the 901--sorry about your luck :) I never could find a site that sold reliable 901 atties. Maybe that is what disappoints people with the 901. They just need a reliable supplier.

HTH,
Dave

i get mine in 5 packs from liberty flights (uk) and i've yet to have one go wrong!

(well except for one that came in a kit that didnt work, abe refunded, gotta love LF's service!)
