Any of you guys switch BACK to clearos after using RBAs/RDAs?

I still use carto tanks part of the time, but no way will I use clearos. Hell they're more work than my rba/RDAs!

Dang if that ain't the truth. Which is probably why, even though I do like the Mini PT II for its small glass tank, I find myself using cartos more and more if I just want a little bit of something -- but they leak too, if you aren't careful. I only have one cartotank, dedicated full-time to my blueberry muffin/banana nut bread. Which seems to be trying to edge out Virginia as my ADV. :D

What are the pros and cons of rba/rda vs clearos in terms of safety?

Are clearos safer?

To be honest im thinking of trying a mod set up. But im reading about the dangers of rba/rda if you mess up the rebuild or your setup drops down to the ground by accident. You cant lie it down or it might leak and some dangers also related to metals/dust these mods are made with(rust also could be an issue).

Thoughts?

RBAs/RDAs aren't dangerous at all if you have an ohm meter to check your build before you try to put it on a mod.

AFAIK, the only ones you can't lay down are 1) those Genesis style; no idea why, I've never had one and never will; and 2) dripping attys (RDAs). I lay my kayfun down all the time; it never leaks. The stuff about "dangerous mystery metals" is mostly an ANTZ fabrication. Rust isn't an issue with stainless steel; that's why they call it "stainless." Dropping any mod *could* be dangerous, but mainly in not working anymore.

Thx for the info. What if your ohm meter is not working properly?

Are there any other things to look out for?

Any issues you had before?

The Genesis-type have a hole where the wick goes directly into the tank, but since stainless steel mesh rolled up tends to be like a straw(unless it's rolled solid) so it will leak on its side into the upper chamber. Drippers are actually not an issue, except for maybe these newer ones that let you drip a whole mL or more at a time. I use my Mark-T Infinity dripper with a SS mesh wick all the time and have no issues laying it down.

Only in long road trips, with high elevation....I learn that Kayfuns aren't so fun cleaning up mess...lucky i had MVP 2.0 w/Mini aerotank with me.

The flavor isn't the same, but gets the job done

Cant you just rinse the tank? Sorry new to this.

1) get a new accurate ohm/multimeter.
2) there is a learning curve using RBA's, takes a little while to figure out how to consistently wrap good coils then what type of coil, ohm range, wicking material and airflow you prefer.
3) I had all sorts of frustrations when I started building my own, mostly due to time limitations and tiny fiddly coils & limited deck work space also I didn't fire a single one until I could wrap a nice 1 ohm coil consistently / a dozen times, so there was quite a bit of wasted time & wire involved.

No way have I ever or would I ever switch back! The flavor of the rda has spoiled me to the extent I'd never go back again!

Have you tried some of the newer clearos?
To compare?

I also do it all:) I still use the Nautilus' on my Provaris. And on other mods, I use RBA/RDAs and love them! I even have a REO bf, which is my current favorite. I did my research before getting into the rebuildables and enjoy tinkering with them. I have 3 Kayfuns and 3 various RDAs. But when vaping on the fly you can't beat the Nautilus with bvc coils. :D

I still use my Nautilus ( must be BVC though ) in rotation with my Erlkonigin ( which gets my best flavors ) and my Russian, and my REO Grand, and drip at home. so ya.. I still do. I like a few flavors readily available.. even at work etc.

How do bvc coils compare to ceramic dual coils? If anybody knows

I haven't tried any of the "newer" thingies, because they all seem to be dual coil, which I can't abide in any context -- I even buy single-coil cartos to use in my UDCT!

I *have* heard good things about that Erlkonigin, but it's hellaciously expensive. Best bet is a Tobeco Kayfun Lite Plus with 2mm custom airflow; it's single coil, great airflow, and on eBay you can get it for $29.95. Best vape I've ever had; easiest build I've ever tried.
