You seem confused, 'mod' is an ambiguous catch all slang term for almost anything that isn't an ego type battery.

The Provari is an excellent regulated, durable, consistent VV APV with a 3.5 amp limit, it uses removable batteries, it has 510 threads only.
It would not be a good choice for someone wanting to experiment with delivery devices & coil builds that equal or exceed its 3.5 amp limit.

The provari is popular because of its high quality, and 1 yr warranty; for some, that may be enough to justify its extremely high cost. I am far too poor to consider it any kind of decent choice -- I won't spend over about $50 for any mod, not because I'm cheap -- I do appeciate quality -- but because I'm just broke; I can't spend that kind of money on anything, except maybe a new computer when software forces me -- I've been very happy with my XP Pro machines, but now they're obsolete, so next year I have to buy something new, and no doubt not nearly as high-quality as XP Pro -- Microsoft only makes good operating systems about every 10-15 yrs.

Use them, yes: go back, no.

I enjoy rebuilding the little clearomizer/tanks, if I could locate a system that vapes well enough in the clearo size I'd likely use it more often, as for now, I mainly use them when I'm working on a genny or dripper or testing a DIY flavor for some that uses just clearos.

How do bvc coils compare to ceramic dual coils? If anybody knows

the BVC's are the nautilus re invented imho. they are fantastic for commercial coils. perfect? no.. but I use them daily, again, in combination with high end stuff, because I like to have a few tanks loaded at my disposal. the BVC coil is somewhat compared to a carto in function

the Erlkonigin is not cheap, but its authentic, and show me inexpensive authentic gear? it truly is an amazing flavor machine for me.

I am an IT professional.. 15+ years in the industry. Win 7 blows XP away. Heck, once a person get past the small learning curve of Win 8, I like it even better. completely stable, significantly more intelligent with resource usage and distribution. While I appreciate your opinion is your own, professionally, I can say that 7 & 8, have made my job significantly easier in terms of support, etc, and have the user experience much better for pure stability reasons alone.

Yes, I have gone back to other type atomizing devices --- a few times.

I used carto tanks almost exclusively for many many months, but have found the clearo's of today are worthy of a spot or two in my rotation of atomizing devices. Earlier clearo's were not and were only travel back up supplies.

I like the Nautilus (both sizes and types of coils) and the Mega Aero quite a bit. I like the vape and the convenience.

Most of my RB gear sits in a drawer with various wires, wicking materials & tools I don't touch. I do enjoy a Kayfun.

Well, I guess that's good to know. I've liked XP Pro because it doesn't force me to reboot every 6 hrs from "resource leakage" or the BSOD. By the time I get ready to buy a new one, probably May of next year, Win 9 may be out, and who knows what it'll be like.

But I admit I'm a little worried about some of my older programs working with a new OS; I can't afford to replace the pricey ones.

15 yrs huh... :D I was running a BBS back in the Fidonet days... circa 1990-1994. Got tired of having to pay for a dedicated phone line, and everyone was running off to the "newsgroups" anyway. Whatever they were. I didn't get to the internet till 1999, when everything was already WWW, so I really have no idea what "newsgroups" may have been.

I'm an amature compared to you guys but today i fitted a ceramic dual coil from another brand onto a Kanger T3'D (like the look and the 2.4ml tank, but it was flooding on and off ). This ceramic dual coil head is from a 2014 oniyo vapetank ver 1.0. Like bvc coils (Nautilis) its a ceramic dual coil and operates comparably/long lasting.

Can't believe it fits. Works great.

before - 2014 oniyo vapetank ver 1.0 as my daily driver. 1.5 ml

Only in long road trips, with high elevation....I learn that Kayfuns aren't so fun cleaning up mess...lucky i had MVP 2.0 w/Mini aerotank with me.

The flavor isn't the same, but gets the job done

Yeah...I take several motorcycle trips per year which usually involve a lot of elevation changes. The Kayfuns will stay at home for those trips and the trusty carto tanks will come along. I have been toying with the idea of trying the new BVC coils in Nautilus for trips as well.

I've been using both.
At work...tanks seem easier, but after these coils run out, I might start dripping at work. Just because It's loads cheaper. And as time goes on I feel tanks just don't give me enough pull/vape/airflow/throat hit. When I first got my rda, I hardly used it tho
You might want to look at the Pontus. $30 at fluidvapes.com and the first tank ever that hasn't made me seriously miss my drippers. I haven't touched my Kayfuns at all since it got in. Heck, I've barely touched my drippers.

I'm curious if anyone here has switched BACK to clearos after using RBAs/RDAs?

I've been using Kayfuns and RDAs exclusively for the past 4-5 months, but recently I've been thinking about switching back to a simple setup.

If so, what clearo are you using? Nautilus? Pro tanks?

Most of the time I still use Clearos , It's just not comfortable using Kayfun when I'm out , Plus it might attract attention and I don't want people bothering me while I'm vaping

I did. Too much hassle with building coils, fiddling with them, buy crap to put them together, having to constantly drip or refill which doesnt work when Im out of the house, not much difference at all in vapor production or taste. And lets be real, if you vape regularly you cant taste juice that well anyway. I mean clearos are like 2 or 3 bucks a piece, at that price theyre pretty disposable and I may buy a clearo or two every 4 or 5 months but I havent needed to, I just do because theyre cheap. I like just going out with a tank and not having to worry about doing anything to it except vape from it. I dont use anything but clearos anymore. My go to has become iclear 16s or evods depending on the juice.

RDA's etc in da house and VV/VW with clearos on da move...........equal opportunity user here.I do a lot of stuff outdoors and need to be hassle free so I use my clearos outside.Just make sure ya don't get em under the lawnmower or they're toast.Man what a mess they make.MVP2 and aero tank and sharp high speed blades don't make for a purdy picture.

I switched away from clearos partially because I found nothing about them to be simple. So "simple" may be in the eye of the beholder. Got tired of playing the replacement head lottery... and if I rebuild them myself anyway, I prefer something made for that purpose.

If you got the patience to learn how to set up a meshed gennie, you may find that it's a very very low maintenance way to go. I spend maybe 15 minutes a month, total, on keeping 4-6 gennies in rotation. That is vaping done simple in my mind.
