I disagree with set voltage unless you vape the same juice everyday. Different brands of juice has different hits, pg\vg ratio, thickness etc. Some juices hit too hard, other dont hit at all at the same voltage. Carto, atty users will need to tweak the voltage also. For example I can't lower my nic intake bc if I order low nic juice, the TH doesn't satisfy me. In that case I can make up for TH by increasing the voltage.

If you see no need for a vv mod, what was the need for a alpha and omega when SB and BB does the same thing?

You gotta keep up with e-cig advancements :) and a juice dispenser like in precious lv2 would be great

I think you misread my post :p

The purpose of the Omega was ergonomics :) The BB/Alpha just a smaller version. I am amazed at the number of folks that can get all day out of a 900mAh battery.

Actually, hate to disagree, I would love a SB design (18650 battery, same button) but instead of variable voltage, I want variable wattage. What this means is, the user sets the wattage (say 8 watts) and the unit monitors the resistance of the atty and adjusts the voltage to fit the user specified wattage.

What this amounts to is, regardless of what style atty you put on it, you get the same heat. This means that as you use an atty and its resistance drops, the ecig compensates for this by lowering the voltage, again, giving you the same hit every time. Put a low resistance atty on it and the voltage drops automatically giving you the same hit you got from a standard resistance atty.

One other thing worth mentioning, once you have a unit that you can adjust the voltage (like the Provari), you quickly learn that it isnt about the voltage, its about the watts. So, what you end up doing is, breaking out a calculator and a volt meter, measuring the resistance of the atty, and calculating using ohms law the proper voltage to reach the wattage you are looking for. Now, its nice that the Provari can measure the resistance of the atty but you still need a calculator to figure out what your volts should be to give the wattage you are looking for. The device should do this for you. Set it and forget it.

Variable Voltage is not the solution, variable wattage is.

And please, 'if' there is going to be a safety implemented, make it 3 amps instead of 2.5...tho Id prefer an option to turn this safety off...

I have a provari and I constantly adjust the voltage because of the atomizer, its age, or the juice. I like sweeter juices at lower temps and tangy / spicy juices at a hotter temp. If it is a juice that has alcohol, I use less voltage. The more VG, the lower the voltage.

However, this likely wont happen because the electronics required are outside most people's understanding (including my own). It is pretty complicated to get wattage to adjust on the fly. The only mod that currently does this is the Darwin and my two responses to this mod are: 1. Good luck getting one. 2. It looks ugly.

A SB with the ability to show battery charge level, adjust wattage (say a 3-13 watt range), and for giggles, show you the current resistance of the atty and current required voltage to maintain the user specified wattage while using the same 18650 battery and using the same button design (which could double as a menu button like the Provari) would be sweet and I would pay $300 for it without even thinking. It literally could be the last ecig you would ever need to buy.

Add a feeding system and put a catch for excess liquid (for those that like dripping) along with everything above and the SB would literally be everything we are looking for in an ecig.
