Any reason to choose a carto tank over a protank or something similar?

Hmm, looks like you're trying to start a war here...:laugh: Everyone has their own favorites, for their own "compelling reason", they all will vape just a bit different. The maintenance on each is just a bit different. If you can swing it, try one of each (over time..:)) and see which you like best.

I personally like the vivi-nova, no leaks, good flavor / vapor, easy to rebuild and they are top coil design...YMMV..:vapor:

he was 'rebuilding a cartotank'? Really? I must see this video. :p

But...everyone is different. Some prefer the flavor and vape from different devices. It took me some time to determine what I like and dont like. I DO like cartotanks btw. To me, they provide a better flavor and consistency then to many of the clearos out there.

I thought the same thing! Re-building a carto tank? THAT is must see tv!

I prefer the iClear30 and a carto to the Pro Tanks but there will be a new learning curve. Once you get the hang of what carto works for you and your juices, its a better vape IMO. There is a chance they wont work for you. Just try a plain unpunched carto first and see if you like the flavor.

Yes you can get a fairly good glass carto tank for about $10 plus drip tip and the actual cartomizer. So roughly $12-13 if you already have a 510 drip tip that will fit. The cheap tank i recommend is the SMOK DCT Pyrex and a single coil flanged cartomizer. The IBtanked XL 19mm is more than twice the price but it sure is made nice. Mine should be here is just a couple more days. :D

You may also want to checkout the new iClear30S. Ive heard they have improved the draw which was my main complaint. Avoid tank cracking juices and it should be fine. I hope so because im planning on trying one.

BOGE F15 TANK CARTOMIZER 1 ML - $4.00 : VapeLite your source for Boge quality electronic cigarettes, Boge electronic cigarettes

And a video review--he's using f16--same thing, just bigger, because he's using it on his ProVari.

Warning--one bad word in the video... Sorry, but he shows how to refill it. He talks too much, though. ;)

That said, I've been using my Kanger BCC clearos lately, especially the latest upgrades: eVod, T3S and mini ProTank 2--less hassle and I don't have to deal with that polyfill that comes with all cartos.

I use both and I like both (Kanger BCC and carto tanks). It's all about personal preferences. If you want to try a carto tank, get a Boge F15 or F16--for 4 bucks you get a carto tank fully assembled with a pre-punched Boge carto inside--just fill and vape.

Just fill and Vape? Not true!
That leaves out the most important part/skill of running any empty carto. Priming. You must prime a carto tank, well, to have an enjoyable experience.

As for rebuilding cartos? I would like to see that video too. Maybe the OP could link to that.
It has been debated on ECF many times, and the consensus is that cartos are not Rebuildable. It is debatable if they can even be cleaned well enough to be worth the time.
When a carto begins to not work well or floods badly, yank it, toss it, replace it.

I almost exclusively use carto tanks. I
Love the Vape and flavor.
But some juices just don't work well in that set up. The juice may be too thin, or too thick, or dark, or just tastes better in a different system.

I also have a Protank 2 and Hypertanks. Not too crazy about those. Still looking for other alternatives.

!

Please explain the difference between filling and priming a cartomizer. :D

BTW, it's all explained in the video...

i haven't had any problems with my ego cc clearo. in fact, not a single issue. not a drip, dry hit, leak, or anything for that matter. i've only had it for 4 days, and while i am kind of new to ecigs, i can tell what's good and what's crap ;)

my only dislike is price of attys.. $25 for 5 is a bit extreme and i'm considering switching to another cheaper clearo/atty because i think it's way inflated.. not sure how long each will last but i'll be keeping an eye how often they need replacing.

got a protank 2 mini on the way to compare..

Oooh. I like that talk. :)

4 days.... 3 or 4 weeks is my testing period. If you convince me in 4 weeks, I'll but one myself. (Can't say fairer than that...)

No war here, just curiosity. Perhaps rebuilding was the wrong term. Here's the link to the video in question. LET'S PUNCH AND FILL CARTOMIZER TANKS! - YouTube
It was about punching the carto and filling the tank. Mistake in terminology is mine.

Garen, nowadays you don't have to do that. Most good cartos can be bought already laser pre-punched and ready to be used in tanks. Punching holes at home is a chore and almost always dents the carto body, which may result in damaging the o-rings on your tank. If you want to use tanks, get the professionally pre-punched cartos. That's what I use and never had any problems with leaking or poor wicking or damaging the tanks.
