Thanks Skidoo. I'm gonna have to get a couple to try them out. Broaden my juice horizons! :)

No worries.

The only thing I can say negative about the tanks from myvaporstore is that with the XL cartos I use (smoktech and ikenvape both flanged) they stick out past the top of the tanks about 1/8". With my drip tips it's no problem except the looks, but with certain drip tips that you may want to sit flush with the top of the tank, it would be an issue.

I'm hoping my Boge cartos will work, I believe they are the regular size. I do have XL cartos for my glass tank, it's taller. Check out the Vapelite site Skidoo. They're cheap!
I'm all about more bang for your buck!! :D

Yeah, I've bookmarked that site. In this thread I thought that the link was only for a carto and not with a tank for $4. I was wrong obviously, because that's a smokin' deal for a tank, cart, and drip tip. Not sure that can be beat honestly.

I'm really glad you responded to this thread. It is SO nice to have someone who has the product and has used it give their thoughts. I also like to save a buck and not jump on the latest/greatest thing. Thanks again Lucy. :toast:

BTW- if you are using standard cartos and want to use them in the pro DCT I linked, you may have to cut the tank tube down. If you have the tools or know someone with tools, it should be pretty easy to do. I've been wanting to try cutting one for a regular carto and get a shorty drip tip for a nice short setup. Othewise, those tanks are made to fit the longer (XL, Mega, etc..) cartos.

I just cut down the tank with a crack to see how it worked out. I marked the tank for a standard carto, took the cap off the end, stuck the non-sharp end of an exacto-knife into the end I wanted to cut so there was backing, used my mini copper pipe cutter to score a nice straight line, and finished it with the exacto-knife.

Left is the cut down tank.......Right is the tank as it comes originally.

is there any easy way to tell what a volatile juice is? Or do you just have to find out the hard way? Not sure if I have any or ordered any...I did the protanks so I wouldn't find out the hard way.

There isn't an easy way to tell if a juice can be a problem. Even when a "tank cracking" flavor is known, recipes often blend flavors and you may not be able to identify individual flavor notes. Hopefully this can help a bit:

Here's another option for polypro tanks- 3ml Polypropylene Tank

RedhatPat- those Big Daddy tanks are super nice looking. I love the matte black they use for caps and tank sleeves, but I just couldn't get myself to spend that kind of money. Maybe down the road, who know's. They sure are nice looking....

I have the 5ml version of the same polypro tank from VVV. It has silicone grommets on the ends, instead of caps, so getting a carto in evenly can be a nightmare takes some practice and, personally, I don't think it's very pretty; that said, I've ended up using it more than any of my other tanks. The side-fill screw makes it super easy to use and it doesn't leak. Seriously, doesn't leak. The end grommets are very thick and tight, so while that makes it hard to get a carto in, keeps it from leaking. I have one grommet I sliced almost in half and it still works without leaking. It also won't break it you drop it.

A down-side with the grommet design is you can't use a "tank tool" which is really a must when using carto tanks.

ETA: You use the tank tool to change cartos and to refill a carto tank. It protects to "O" rings from being damaged by the edge of the carto. To give you an idea of how a tank tool is used, click on the link in my signature. The video is of a "Hot Swap," but filling is the same principle - you just push the carto down part way, fill it, and then push it up again.

There's the thread! Thanks Ocelot! I'm bookmarking that page! :)
Someone told me that it also depends on the vendor. I love green apple and apparently that can crack plastic tanks, but my appletini from Vape dudes hasn't cracked my tank yet and that's one of my all time favorite flavors!
I was surprised when I got pear from someone (that was delicious), but unfortunately within a few hours I started seeing lil hairline cracks in my tank. Bummer!

That's why I only use glass and polypro, and the little CE3s (I don't know what they are made of, but they've survived my experiments). I think the Protank was a way for China to test the market to see if consumers would be will to pay more for glass and I think the question has been answered. We should be seeing more glass (Pryrex) coming out of China fairly soon. Smokthech is already started testing the market, although their new tanks aren't readily available yet: Smoktech Glass DCT Tank - 3.5ml - Silver

That's a nice looking tank, fairly priced as well. I am gonna get a couple of polypropylene tanks for those questionable vapes. Can't wait to try the pear again! :)
If you get one of those new tanks that aren't available yet, and you think of it, let me know how they work out for you. I also wonder how it will look on a silver Provari.

I've also written a blog article on the volatile flavors. I included a video of a tank cracking and actually melting, a list of flavors known to crack tanks, and included suggestions of juice delivery devices that are safe to use with the tank cracking flavors:

I doubt I'll be getting one, I have too many tanks and not enough juices I like enough to put in them

One thing to keep in mind when using the slim DCT/SCT tanks with a ProThingy. The kind the have a concave groove at the bottom to secure the carto into sometimes won't work without an adaptor. With the slim diameter and the recessed carto screw some of them will sit too far down into the top "cup" and block the airflow.

That's good to know, fortunately enough I haven't had that problem. Should that problem arise, what type of adapter would I need? A 510 to 510? That's just a wild guess.
Just looked it up, it does exist!! :)
Any recommendations for sites that carry that? I will be looking around. Thanks a lot for the help Ocelot!! :D
