Hello fellow Vapers!
Since I began using rbas, up until today when I got a special package I'm the mail, I've been using round kanthal and cotton. Just been wrapping the coils around a tiny screwdriver and then very carefully pulling the rolled cotton through and them installing it.
so anyhow, I ordered some silica and ribbon wire. When I try to do my usual method, the silica falls apart while trying to thread it through. I tried making the coil a bit bigger, but then the coil is too loose around the wick. Wrapping it straight around the silica doesn't seem to make a very nice coil. Is there some sorta trick to this? ive been trying to brainstorm but coming up empty...
thanks!

First, wrap your coil around a mold like a drill bit or a blunt needle. Mount coil and pull out mold.
Then, Fold the silica in half over the middle of a two or three inch piece of wire. Then fold the wire in half so the wire and the silica form interlocking loops. Then feed the wire tips through the coil and pull the loop of silica through.
