'Round here South Bay is basically the 'Beach' Cites, Long Beach, Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach, Redondo Beach and so on...
i used to have an apartment down in oceanside across from the beach years ago, i loved going across the street for starbucks. but i hated 1400.00 for rent lol
I know what you mean... I have friends in Santa Cruz. I always thought that Hwy 9 ran East/West until I found out that the Ocean was actually SOUTH from there!! Never could get used to that one... LOL!!
From someone who grew up in the "South Bay" down here... It got it's name from being the Southern portion of the Santa Monica Bay... starting from El Porto (and including Manhattan, Hermosa and Redondo) down to Torrance and RAT Beach, even parts of Palos Verdes, where a lot of the Surf Wars were... but never, ever Long Beach!! The cliffs of PV are pretty much the cut-off...
I've been pretty lucky... never lived more than a few blocks from the beach for most of my life. I wouldn't be able to afford it these days, but I took over my mom's place when she passed away...
(btw, RAT = Right After Torrance... Ha!!)

I had a great time. It was good to be able to see the people that were only forum names and avatars. Trying assorted gear and too many juices with the convenient (and hygenic) condoms was very cool, even more so for some of the newer vapists. Ejoker raffled off some goodies, but we were all winners from the good time had by all. I wish I still had the brain cells to remember everyones names, but kudos to eikon (from the Simi valley) for the soon to be seen camera work, PVPuff&Stuff for making the long trip down, Janetda for the call to action, Rippspeed for sharing his #53 GGTS with the acrylic AFS, Daniel (nephilim) for the Tekk talk and more, DC2 for the appetizers and lasting until the end and helping me finish off the pizza, ImYourSalt for not winning too much and bringing the Vapure goodies, Chri$ for starting this thread and everyone for being there to make it happen!
