so I saw Battle: LA a few weeks ago (great movie btw) and when I was watching the previews, I saw this commercial YouTube - truth® - "Why Do They Make Tobacco Taste Sweet?" figured you guys would have something to say about this. here's what I put:

why do they make Alchohol taste sweet? why do they make foods high in fat and high fructose corn syrup taste sweet? why do they make ANYTHING bad for you taste sweet? why is it not a big deal when they seem market alcoholic beverages to teenagers but such a horrible thing when they do anything remotely similar with tobacco it's a crime against humanity? why do they MAKE kids take horrible drugs like Adderall that are comparable to ....?

Dont get me started on those commercials. They are no better than the "Above the influence" commercials out there.

Terror tactics is all they are. "Hey, drugs and smoking is only for losers who are following all the hype on TV, instead follow OUR hype and be what WE want you to be"

The truth is only worth what they SELL it for.

It is worse than "terror tactics", it is long term brain-washing. I love your point about "followers". I always tell people that they need to most fear the people telling them they "should be an individual, and think for themselves" because they are absolutely trying to manipulate them too, it can just be harder to figure out!

Putting an "R" in a circle next to the name doesn't turn a lie into truth. What we have here are "Truth Twisters."

I remember a commercial that ran over and over again a few years ago, for a digital camera. "There's lots of good digital cameras out there, but only one camera owns the name 'the official camera of the internet'." WTF? The internet has "official" things now? NO! But they did own the name, I'm sure... Worst doublespeak I've ever heard!
