You're talking about nicotine, right? Can you put the bottles it comes in straight into a freezer? I've read of people who put it in small glass bottles, and then freeze. That sounds like a lot of work for something a may not use for a long time. I don't plan to start DIYing in the near future, but I think I would like to stock up on nicotine just in case.
I've been "small-stocking" (just three liters to date) since the last FDA scare, back in April 2014. They've been in my freezer since, and are 60mg strength, all PG. Just recently I posed the question of degradation to someone whom I happen to trust with issues such as these. I snipped the reply.
If he is correct, I'll be fine.
At my current pace, one liter of 60mg is approx. 1 year's worth of vaping. I'd mix with straight PG/VG if the curtain fell, and would deal with it. I'd also begin lower my nic intake, which is very doable (I've already done it on a small scale). Therefore that liter-per-year equation would soon be liter-per-four-years (or better).
Based on this, I figure 12-15 liters, at approx. $40 per, will carry me through whatever life I have left here. That still equates to less than what one single month of smoking was previously costing us.
Piece of cake.
And I'm not saying this is correct, as I've truly NO idea. But even if it's generally close to true, I'm very comfortable with my Vapocalypse plan. Besides, I truly think the laws WILL get overturned eventually, even if they ARE passed today. We are hopefully in the most oppressive regulatory times this country will ever see. If not, well, then I guess I'll be getting out at just about the right time.
I have faith in common sense. That may be Pollyanic of me, but I do.
Still in all, it is better to have and not need, than to need and not have.
