I assumed it was considering the much higher price tag. Is the Zenkote as fragile as the the finish he uses on the stealth kabuki's?

Fragile?

I dont' get what your saying. ZenKote is PVD Process, called DLC, which is Diamond Like Coating. It is the hardest coating known to man! the only thing harder is Diamond itself, and is not just a coating, but it actually permeates the surface of the steel.
The only way to scratch it is to actually damage the steel underneath. As it becomes a part of the surface of the Steel.
Keep in mind, that although of very high quality, 316ss is not all that hard.

The Stealth Provari's were ceramic, not Zenkote. Z is Much tougher, and abrasion resistant. For instance, Ceramic can chip and or flake with impact, Zkote cannot.

That's exactly what I wanted to know. Thanks! I would be the proud owner of one today but my package took an odd detour to Florida for some reason :(

I thought they were ZenKote. Why do you think they're not.

It might just be a matter of bad copy writing, but the Provape site lists it as Gun Metal Grey. It never mentions Zenkote. In the description, it states gun metal grey ceramic coating. And the zenkote isn't ceramic as I understand it. Also, the photo is not displaying that awesome GMZ shine. It almost looks as matte as the stealth.

Calling on @Zen~ for clarification, but I'm fairly certain...

But, yes, Zen could clear this up and put an end to my amateur detective hour.

They're ZenKote. Anyone who's held them both, and has a GMZ Provi, will say the same. And my doubt there is immeasurably small (although I've been wrong before).

Well, it seems once again, I've gone and believed what I read on the interwebs. (Referring to the Provape website copy).
Great... Now I have to reconsider spending the extra bucks and getting another GMZ provi (p3 or altering a new 2.5) and matching kabuki rather than getting the flattop 2.5 and SS kabuki. Oh, first world problems.

LOL! Understood.

And I, unfortunately, and the wrong person to ask for counsel there. I've got a thing for the v2.5. I can't explain it.

I love my 2.5 as well. Some folks might think I'm daft, but I I'm tempted to spend just about as much to get another GMZ 2.5, send it to HoH and get the p3 connector as I would I spend on the P3. Something special about that 2.5.

For what ever reason, the Zkoated Provari's are high polished before the zkote. The Kabuki's are left with a satin finish.

The metal prep before the DLC is applied, decides whether it is high shine, or subdued.

My all time Favorite watch is the DLC finished Panerai. It is a Dull, Pencil lead color with a soft bead blasted finish.
First one I ever saw was in the opening scenes of Eraser. Arnie, Statem. Stallone, The Rock, and quiet a few others wear theirs even in the movies. Even though they are ultra expensive for a Work Watch.

Not sure they will do this for you, but I bought two 2.5s (hybrid red and mini dragon) and begged for the P3 connector to be put on. The CS rep said it was normally only offered for the satin and stainless 2.5s, but she made an exception in my case. Not sure why, maybe because I was buying two, or that I had spent lots with them or what, but it's worth a try, all they can do is tell you no.
