Are you Zen's engineer? And I have to repeat what I've said twice now... other tank makers manage to avoid this problem.
Perhaps you missed the personal references made about a member?!?I don't think he's fishing at all. It's sad around here when a person cannot express their displeasure over a product they purchased (& not a cheap product I might add) without being made to look like some sort of clown. It's this very behavior that has driven many from what amounts to "fan" threads for actual threads in which they can express themselves without someone throwing shade!
[IMO] There is NOTHING amazing about the Kabuki. It's an $85 tank that takes Nautilus coils. Oh wow!
How many more tanks need to break before someone realizes these aren't just isolated issues. Apparently there is a problem. Hell, I used to work in manufacturing so it wouldn't surprise me if every Kabuki tank wasn't made to spec!
In your opinion...And I have to repeat what I've said twice now... other tank makers manage to avoid this problem.
There are 73 search hits in this thread on "cracked" and "broken". Yes, it's my opinion. In your opinion...

I reassembled it. That's all it took to break it. And I was careful because this tank's rep preceded it. It is crystal clear, reading through this thread, that this is a widespread problem with this tank. The fact that we even have to argue this out is ridiculous. I'm not wasting my time arguing over denial. And over 500 in the forum in general using these words...
Not sure I follow?
Your tank broke, and you think that it should not have?
That's fine. Could you explain what you did to break it?
Thanks, Jim

Actually it seems I remembered incorrectly, from a different thread:
and no explanation of the reason, interesting. The only quotes I could find by him in this thread pertaining to glass talked about reject rates on raw stock.

Pyrex... It's not a very good tank material.
Quartz... Is a Very Good Tank Material!!!

Helpful? I think so.

PS Tact has gotten me much farther in life, than my opinion ever will.
The reasons given were very specific...
I could list them, but I prefer that you find them for yourself.

I respectfully disagree! There is plenty amazing aspects to this amazing little tank! First and foremost is the amazing customer service followed by a lifetime warranty, country of origin, great flavor, airflow, set it and forget it airflow screw, ease of cleaning, direct coil to contact pin, P3 connector and more vapor than smoke I got from analogs.I don't think he's fishing at all. That's because he linked to a search containing every post that used the word "Pyrex". He wasn't trying to be helpful. Just cute....
And bravo to your search as well, tho all I see is a bazillion threads mentioning pyrex. I get SO lost with our "search" features here.
Is it a big issue to buy a borosilicate tank from Spectrum or IBTanked?
I responded in kind cause the member was being a bit of a dcik...Ok, decided.
I'm sorry that it's you I'm quoting, but since we are on the pet peeve discussion....
I don't really understand why members here are less than willing to give up info at times. Why should another member have to go bonkers trying to find something that someone else already knows?
As difficult as it is now, with this software, it would be incredibly helpful if everyone would just link, or say what they know.
I, for one, would so greatly appreciate it!

My experience is probably one of those but I do need to make it clear it was completely my fault. I've used glass tanks wherever possible since I started vaping (nearly 3 years ago) and have only had 2 breakages. One was the Kabuki when I first had it and it fell over and cracked - the other was a SnP tank when I was reassembling after cleaning. Both were quartz glass which is probably a coincidence - but I do prefer borosilicate glass if given the option. I do chalk both breakages down to user error - it seems to me the weakness of glass tanks generally are a) if they are dropped/ fall over and b) when the glass is being replaced either after cleaning or when o-rings are being changed as even a slight angle when installing can stress the glass. Since the Kabuki accident (August) I have used at least 1 Kabuki every day and the glass has remained intact, even though there have been a couple more 'falls' and I have changed the o-rings a number of times. I do try to minimise removing the glass completely - which of course means I need one complete tank per o-ring colourThere are 73 search hits in this thread on "cracked" and "broken".
I have to say that I have used IBTanked glass for years - mainly in carto tanks - and I have always been really happy with the quality. They are really, really cheap (I have a box full of 'back up' glass gathering dust)- and the shipping costs to the UK are brilliant. I do only buy clear, plain glass though - if getting a bespoke design I would probably want the thickest glass going as knowing my luck that would become breakage no.3Ive used pyrex from both Spectrum and IBTanked.
Neither are what I would call quality glass.
It was our dear classie. Not moi. I use them as charms.
coldgin, I'm sure glad to hear I'm not the only one who tracks fills! And now I can do that in a much neater and cleaner and more organized way, thanks to DPL.

That search result has every occurrence of the word Pyrex from the member Zen's Posts...
So that you might understand his thoughts on it.
I can see you didn't read it?!?
