Thanks TearR. and Enaud. I've already chased the threads on the offending coils, and cleaned the threads in the device. Seems to be a slight difference in the pitch of the threads. My guess is that the coils, being brass based, are first threaded, and then plated. Unless plating is extremely light and precise, it can really screw up the threads dimensions.

That's the term -- chasing threads!

I do suggest, don't throw out those stubborn coils. It's not scientific, but they might just thread beautifully on another day, if they weren't badly stripped or mangled in your attempts, of course.

I like chicken .... a lot; but not enough to eat it everyday. My moms' Alzheimer's is such that she can no longer do anything for herself & since I've been her permanent chef, maid, housekeeper, & sitter since '07 I've found chicken being one of the things she can eat that won't make her cholesterol, blood pressure & sugar go thru the roof.

I love my mom to pieces & if chicken keeps her ticking then chicken it is. :}

I have high cholesterol and blood pressure. Now who says that you have to quit eating everything you love. :thumbs:W00-H00!!! But I do have to watch those Dumplings.:(

Use to be, smoking was really getting to me. Caused lung disease, but still couldn't quit. That's where the Provari products, the Radius, and good liquid comes in. Enjoyy it much more than I ever did smoking, and the PG in it keeps down th4e dreaded lung infections.
My Dr.'s are elated. Who would have thought, an alternative to smoking that in some cases, is actually good for me. :2cool::)
and the Dayum Gov. is trying to shut it down! Grrrrrr!! Commie Bastads.:-x

I'm gonna check my stash of threading dies, and see if I have any that can cure the problem.

Shhhh its a secret. ;)
It was something called Carnival Apple, 0mg and max Vg. Not something that really interests my but hey, it was a freebie lol...

I got the same thing as a freebie...

Also had a stuck coil that was stripped.... found out when I refilled it for the first time.

It was the one that was pre-installed in the Kabuki.

Wow! Ordered my Limited Edition 510 Kabuki from Mt Baker late Tuesday evening and it showed up today :D 10% off AND it came with a bottle of free juice ;)
I feel your excitement. It's how I was when MBV shipped the same item so fast & I got it in 2 days. My juice tho was some kind of mint.

Woo-Hoo!!! I fixed the coils with the bad threads. Tried force. Nope. Tried chasing the threads with a micro jewelers file, Helped, but still not working properly.:-x

Last ditch effort, I took them to the shop, and used black compound and polished the threads by turning the coil while polishing the threads.

They screwed in like "Silk!"

Many here have dremmels, and this would work just as well with them.;)

For all those with coils that will not fit, I'm taking donations!

I am not a happy user today.
I finally decided to replace that old coil that I ended up putting back in on the last go-round.

3 more coils and I give up.

Carefully thread a new coil in the base nice and snug...nothing out of the normal.

Thread the tank on, last little gap to be finished, there is a pause and then a give and then the whole assembly spins freely and the whole tank is wobbly on the base.

Un do....re do...new coil - rinse and repeat, but now the coils will just spin in the base.

They are striping themselves out and cross threading somehow

And no - I don't "crank down"on things and threads have all been brushed out and cleaned with a proxy brush. (tiny dental brush)
And 3rd coil is from a new pack.

I love that I finally have a tank that I can use and enjoy instead of dripping...but dang...

Sounds like a trip to the tank Dr is in order. Could be a defective base.
