I very much am in love with my Kabuki P3 tank~! That said, I am on my third coil now. The first coil came with the Kabuki and worked fine, no muss, no fuss. The second coil wouldn't fire, at all~! A first for me (as an ex-Silo user, I've bought and used many of these coils). The third coil is working (I made sure everything was tight).

Reading the last few pages of this thread is making me wonder, was I just unlucky, or, will this be an ongoing problem? I do believe that HB has a very real point, as there are three parts involved, the P3, the Kabuki, and the Aspire coils. As stated, on the P3 version of the Kabuki, the coil itself makes direct connection to the P3.

It makes me wonder if these mass-produced coils might have tolerance issues (possibly) not considered?
The coils do indeed have varying tolerances to the pin to seat length, and the pin depth of the P3 connection can vary from unit to unit. I have been troubled with coils that don't fire and even had a bit of a fit over it. ZEN assured me that in his testing, about 1 out of 100 coils may not make contact. I tried pulling the pin out on the coils, but they just seem to pop back into place.

If I have a coil that won't make contact, I just slightly pull the pin, and make two wraps of thread around the pin so that it will protrude just a tad more. It works every time to solve the connectivity issue.

My issue, and the reason I do not make coils either, is I have bad hands. The simple act of changing a battery in my P3 is almost a promise of something being dropped. The act of cleaning my P3 is done by my lovely (and kind) wife.

So, a non-working coil will simply be tossed. My only hope (due to cost) is that it won't happen too often.

I would suggest that you make very sure you have the coil screwed in all the way. Even if you think you do you may not. It's important to get it in there really well. I have had this issue but it has always been resolved by screwing the coil down tighter.

I really the idea behind the Kabuki, the look of the it, and the materials it is made of, and I really like the vape - better airflow and a little more flavor than a regular Nautilus. I have the black 510 version and when I first got it I was gung-ho to get the P3 version and the Mount Baker blue version as well.

However having lived with it for a while, I am glad I didn't. It's just too high maintenance: 1. coil changes mean readjusting the 510 (which requires the first allen key) or the coil may get stuck in the chimney. 2. if you forget to lube the o-ring properly its almost impossible to open for refilling without the other allen key. 3. yesterday the 510 screw unscrewed itself and fell on the floor while taking it off one of my mods.

I still enjoy it at home, but I'd be scared to try and refill it or swap the coil when I'm away for any length of time.

Very nice! I do hope my RED fire breathing Dragon does not object to the lack of matchy-matchy! :D

Nope.

I had a few days just getting to know them, but nothing in the way of major problems. The P3 version seems to screw together and apart easier than the 510 version is the only thing I've noticed. I sometimes have to use a pot gripper to get it started. Some juice on the coil threads where it goes into the upper tank, in addition to some on the o rings, helps there.

All in all, I'm pretty happy with them, happy enough to have replaced all the Nauties with them.

Two 510s and Three P3s.

Now I need to try one with the Cisco coils.

Me too, gin lover. This tank has become my newest fascination, and I'm also very appreciate of those who take the time to offer up thoughts on it.

Thank you, Enauduane. I like my little (non $$$) drip tip on the Kabuke, too! Too kute, eh? :D

I must say, I'm impressed. The vape on the Kabuki is outstanding, and coupled with the EPM...... woah, this is beyond beyond.

jwb....... I never rush. ;) I'm a savorer.
