Trying to chase with the kabuki top causes it to continually get stuck, and it removes no material or debris. At least, it didn't in this case. The carto adapter can be cut into 1/2 wide rings, each of which would then be cut again to form a 'C'. As long as the cut was clean, you could then screw it over the threads and it would sort of recut the coil threads, allowing debris and those chrome flakes to be removed. Ya follow? Kinda hard to describe, but that's the best I can do atm. A sort of backwoods tinker style die. You could even put grip tape on the outside so it's easier to twist. Having one of these would allow people to have a higher useable coil count.

The c cut would also prevent it from getting stuck.

Next week when I get back to the shop, I'll make one of those up, send it to you and we can see if it works to get the job done.

I have to ask:

Are you backing the coil around until you hear the coil threads engage with the Kabuki?

I find if I don't do that, every time, I get cross theading on the 510 Kabukis.
Yessir. Still no luck.

Just got my hands 2 days back on the Kabuki.

First impression: FLAWLESS!

Contrary to the slight troubles some users faced, coil fits perfect;y, no paper gap in fitting and works like a charm.

Have been trying Velvet Cloud liquids since a week (which are 100 % VG) and are low on taste.

Noticed there is a significant difference in the flavour compared to the aspire nautilus.

@Zen~ i stand by you to testify money's worth spent on your products. Thanks for the amazing product.

Cheers.

yeah, its definitely threading in crooked. Thing is, the threads spin nicely for the first turn or two, then grab and its almost impossible to turn. Vapes ok :Vapor: but its definitely messed up. If you end up making that tool Gin, show us how you did it!

I was going to do something similar to the upgrade chimney only out of harder steel. Make it a little longer for my fat fingers to grip and at the other end add a hex bit for the air control. Drill a hole through it and put it on a key ring:)

I was thinking of doing the same thing, but instead of harder steel, just using the carto upgrade kit. In practice with the kabuki top cap, I found I needed "teeth" to clear the debris and excess chrome coating. I ended up using a fresh razor-blade point held sideways.

An issue? Not a complaint.
I have a Kabuki with the P3 fitting. I have a P3 to use with the new topper. Unless I screw in the coil as tight as I can get it (with help) and then screw the topper on, then use the hex wrench to help me tighten it a smidge tighter, it'll work.
But, if I do not follow all of these steps, no hiss at all. This is my ADV, so by this point I've ran maybe a dozen or more coils (incl ones bought from ProVape) and this is my life. I fear tightening everything so tight, but if I must, I must as I love this setup.

I do drop stuff, and to date have broken the glass twice - oh well.

Any thoughts or ideas? If it matters, I bought this from the first batch on ProVape.

Well, there have been a few P3 devices that have the positive pin set a little low, and when this condition exists it won't make contact, the solution is to give me a call at the shop (house of hybrids) on Monday when I get back from vapercon in Richmond, and I'll send you a P3 Kabuki base that has the coil seat machined about .02 lower and that will insure that it makes connection every time.

It is a rare, but known problem that I am happy to fix for you.

VaporWerk coils update: I think I said I put the 2.2 VW coils in my Kabukis. Worked fine. However, last night after only maybe half a tank one of the coils just stopped working. No error message from the P3. It was firing OK. Just no vapor. I pulled it out, couldn't see anything wrong with it and replaced with a stock Aspire coil. Wow, what a taste difference! I don't know why I didn't notice it the first time. Bad taste buds from smoking forever, I guess. Anyway, I pitched the VW coils and went back to the Aspire coils. Save your money.

Well that sucks.

Good to know though.

Thanks for the heads up.

Thank you Sir, you are very kind, and I will give you a call this coming Monday :)
I love the tank, and I never 'build' anything, so it is right up my alley! Plus the flavor puts my other toppers to shame, so I refuse to use them. But that means I have no 'spare' either...
