Ugh. Just popped my glass. I made it a week though, so that's something I guess. I ended up ordering an SS tank direct from HOH along with (of course) a mini ionizer for my Raygun. I like this tank a lot for its ease of use, but I noticed that 4 of the 5pack of coils I got did not smoothly thread into the top section. They had to be "wrenched" into place. Kinda crappy. I believe it to be coil inconsistencies mainly because the original coil and the first replacement were smooth as silk. Anyhoo, I placed an order for the super wonderful coils that are and are not American made, so we'll see how that goes.

That and always turn backwards until you feel the click before threading the base or a coil back down. I've only had 1 coil get stuck and that was an early production 510 Kabuki. Went to the ZFO and Mike promptly swapped it out for a new base no questions asked AND we had a nice chat about the good ol days...The one thing i did learn after breaking two fused quartz tanks is dont put a lot of tenison on it. Just tight up till it touches....
Yes, That! Once the edge of the glass is past the o-ring, the tank is sealed, a very gentle snug is all that is required. The one thing i did learn after breaking two fused quartz tanks is dont put a lot of tenison on it. Just tight up till it touches....

I have had my share of bad chimney threads but after a couple fill ups they seem to smooth up a bit. It would be cool if Zen made us a tool to chase threads with.....![]()
I'm planning to go to Vapercon. Can I bring a 2.5 to you for the flat-top conversion? If so, how do I find you? Will you have a booth?

I made like 5 of them... isn't that enough?
You know, Jackie would love a Gun Metal P3 Kabuki to go with her Gun Metal P3. Please make them before we order her a Stealth Kabuki after we move...I made like 5 of them... isn't that enough?
That depends... Is your gin...cold?I am confused?

Agreed. We all appreciate the work you do! Now if these supercalifragilistic non-American but somehow American made coil guys were "somehow" pushed in the right direction as far as their threading goes....I ordered coils from all over the globe from as many retailers as I could find... I needed a WIDE sampling to figure out just how much slop they actually have, and the answer is... "a whole lot" of slop. But after months of experimenting (yes, months) I got it as close as I could. Good times.
