This should be the buna 70:

And I think this is the one that is currently on my Kabuki: http://www.oringsandmore.com/viton-rubber-orings-size-015-price-for-50-pcs/

And here's the silicone:

And again - Here's the poly:

Nautilus arrived today - after guzzling nearly 4mls since I got home - I now know why I vaped nautilus coils over a year on my Provari. Needless to say, I like grape Kool-aid. Pass me a straw, please.

MsLoud, did you mean to say your Kabuki arrived today? Or perhaps Nautilus coils? Or perhaps Nautilus, and I'm flying too fast thru threads?

So.... Vaporwerx coils. Eh, I'm leery about popping one in the kabuki. Right now, I have a week old aspire coil in there that's still got some life left sitting in a half tank of Tribeca. Not wanting to waste the current coil or any liquid, I'll have to wait before I swap over.

After opening up the pack and examining the coils side by side with the aspires, these are the differences I saw immediately:

Vaporwerx coil has more threading for the top cap to grab on to. Threads appear nice and clean. Wick holes are smaller than the aspire's. Someone way back mentioned that they were similar to the original aspire coils. I have no experience with those, so I can't say. There is no mesh above the wick/coil as there is on the Aspire coils. Coil inner diameter is larger than the aspire's which runs around 5/64ths / 2mm. The positive contact has less of a bevel, making more surface area for contact.

That's about it until I test it out.

I do concur.... When I get some free time I will get some measurements and post pictures of guts. The wick holes are smaller than the new Aspire Nautilus but larger than the original holes. I did notice the build quality does appear to a lot better. Threads are way better looking. If I get a chance I will snap some pictures with the MicroVu and compare the two.

The proof will be in the vaping experience, and the rest of the stuff is just the noise floor... I've had conversations with quite a few people at this point that are just not that impressed. I really wish they were good.

Agreed. I perceived some of the differences as positive changes. However, the smaller wicking holes are a bad idea. I've got 10 of them, so I've got to at least try 'em. I am not nearly as hopeful as I once was.

Well Stanley, this is a fine mess you've gotten yourself into. (joke) Zen has chosen to ignore both our pleas, meaning I am left only with you, or buying my replacement glass in large lots, as #4 died this evening as my Radius was knocked off the table down to our hardwood floor, and the vape band didn't do anything to save it.

Personally, all I am asking for is as close as possible to the original size, and O-rings (2 sets) for no leaks. My hands are too bad to make myself one (or perhaps two, one for a spare) - so my hope is that you or perhaps another kind member who decides to make themselves one will remember my off to help defray costs...

It's not that I'm ignoring your pleas, it's that the cycle time in my shop is all committed to make Kabukis and the other products I sell, and while it's a simple part to make, I can't really tear down a production machine to tool it up to make a few parts that a couple people really want.

If I were to make these, I really need to make a few thousand, or the cost is through the roof.

Very few people understand that the teardown from one part and the setup for the next is over $1000 in machine time that it's not earning it's keep, So for example if I made ONE PART it would cost about 1001 Dollars to manufacture on a production machine... TWO would be about 501 dollars ea... Check this out, it's interesting...

If my setup time bills in at a grand, and each part has $1.00 in material and $2.16 in cycle time here's what you get.

EDIT see chart on next post

So, the economics of making a couple of ANYTHING can be a tough pill to swallow. If I had the time, I'd make them on a manual machine, but even then the parts would cost like 15 bucks a pop. And it's an easy DIY project for anybody that has the time. I simply don't, at the moment. If I have tinker time available, it would be to finalize the Nauti Buddy first, because that would sell to NON kabuki users as well. I have to gauge the market size in making these decisions.

Those prices don't reflect parts with defects that have to be tossed, deburring and polishing the edges, tool insert costs... little silly ziplock bags so they get to you without scratches...

SO maybe I am ignoring the request... but it's not to be mean.

Since I can't afford a Kabuki at the moment, I thought about gettng a few Nautilus but seeing how those that had the Nautilus and now have a Kabuki say there is a night and day difference ... Sigh. Is there that huge of a difference? I should just keep chucking pennies in the jar I suppose till I have enough for 2 Kabuki.
Split the difference and get a silo tank...$35 , better than a nautilus. No cuts or broken tank reports thought I'm sure it has its own issues like every tank. capacity is 5ml. I have no comparison as I've owned neither just putting an option out there

Anyone Come from a silo want to chime in? It's under half the price with very similar specs and much cheaper operational costs too given it takes aspire glass

Sweet vapes has aspire made nickel coils for $9/5 pack fwiw. $10 for the regular Bvc

I'm still debating. Lots of issues here given the simplicity of the tank. I did see the nautilus coils have been improved drastically since I used them. The problems I have with my hands right now and through surgery likely mean the kabuki won't work with the tank being so tight and glass prone to breaking I broke an original. Atticus glad even. The neurological issues are why I need a prebuilt coil tank so the reported difficulty dating back to the first few pages of getting coils in and glass out definitely are putting me off.

The Aspire Nautilus I traded for :) she sent the regular size and a mini! Hubs has the regular and I'm sporting the mini. These coils are fantastic - which is what I needed t qualify - that I could be satisfied with the coil therefore the Kabuki would be leaps and bounds better.

Zen  even though I gave notice my top cap didn't have to be replaced, Lo and behold what the postman just delivered: a new stealth top cap!! You are the master of customer service Zen...so a big thank you! to you and Stacie :thumb:
I certainly have to buy myself a third Kabuki (not that I needed any more excuses, the equitation is pretty simple: if [HASHTAG]#mods[/HASHTAG] > [HASHTAG]#kabukis[/HASHTAG] then $$ kabuki else vape is << ) :D

Tubing ordered-check.
O-rings ordered- check.
Tubing cutter- nope...trip to home Depot coming up.

If the tubing cutter won't separate this material, it should at least score a nice perpendicular line as a guide is my hope.

@Zen~ , This should also work on my ZAP's, no?

Great idea on the tubing cutter. I'll likely follow suit. I'm sure it will work. Then you might want to try to dull the corners a bit with a Dremel. Like just take the sharpness out of the inside edge that rubs against the o-rings if nothing else.
