The Aspire nautilus I traded for :) she sent the regular size and a mini! Hubs has the regular and I'm sporting the mini. These coils are fantastic - which is what I needed t qualify - that I could be satisfied with the coil therefore the Kabuki would be leaps and bounds better.

When i just started out i went evod to subtank and then some kfls. But the subtank coil were so prone to spitting and popping. Then i kind of stumbled on the nautilus. I really think its severely underrated, and why a provari 2.5 and nautilus is not the go to recommendation for a new vaper boggles my mind.

I think the subtank is fine and it has some nice options... But straight from smoking to that?!?! Good grief.

Put tape on the tubing before using a tubing cutter, the cutter will scratch the tank and it will look ugly. We don't want ugly Kabukis out there.

The cutter "may" go through the tubing, but it may not. If it goes through it will cause the opening to be narrow, so make sure to deburr it or your O-rings will be sliced up.

A FINE dovetail saw in a miter box is a better choice to cut the stuff.

And lots of the liquids on the market will make the plastic brittle and spider-crack Poly.

It's not that I'm ignoring your pleas, it's that the cycle time in my shop is all committed to make Kabukis and the other products I sell, and while it's a simple part to make, I can't really tear down a production machine to tool it up to make a few parts that a couple people really want.

If I were to make these, I really need to make a few thousand, or the cost is through the roof.

Very few people understand that the teardown from one part and the setup for the next is over $1000 in machine time that it's not earning it's keep, So for example if I made ONE PART it would cost about 1001 Dollars to manufacture on a production machine... TWO would be about 501 dollars ea... Check this out, it's interesting...

If my setup time bills in at a grand, and each part has $1.00 in material and $2.16 in cycle time here's what you get.

EDIT see chart on next post

So, the economics of making a couple of ANYTHING can be a tough pill to swallow. If I had the time, I'd make them on a manual machine, but even then the parts would cost like 15 bucks a pop. And it's an easy DIY project for anybody that has the time. I simply don't, at the moment. If I have tinker time available, it would be to finalize the Nauti Buddy first, because that would sell to NON kabuki users as well. I have to gauge the market size in making these decisions.

Those prices don't reflect parts with defects that have to be tossed, deburring and polishing the edges, tool insert costs... little silly ziplock bags so they get to you without scratches...

SO maybe I am ignoring the request... but it's not to be mean.

I *never* thought "mean" at all. And thanks for taking the time to explain it a bit, while some of us have a basic understanding of a process, seeing details like this explains a lot. One thought? It might surprise you what percentage of Kabuki owners would buy at least one 'setup', if not more. But I do hear you :)

Split the difference and get a silo tank...$35 , better than a nautilus. No cuts or broken tank reports thought I'm sure it has its own issues like every tank. capacity is 5ml. I have no comparison as I've owned neither just putting an option out there

Anyone Come from a silo want to chime in? It's under half the price with very similar specs and much cheaper operational costs too given it takes aspire glass

Sweet vapes has aspire made nickel coils for $9/5 pack fwiw. $10 for the regular Bvc

I'm still debating. Lots of issues here given the simplicity of the tank. I did see the nautilus coils have been improved drastically since I used them. The problems I have with my hands right now and through surgery likely mean the kabuki won't work with the tank being so tight and glass prone to breaking I broke an original. Atticus glad even. The neurological issues are why I need a prebuilt coil tank so the reported difficulty dating back to the first few pages of getting coils in and glass out definitely are putting me off.

I went to the Silo as soon as it was made, as it had one larger airhole, which I liked. Plus to me the look was nicer. Only differences in my mind, no better flavor than a Nauti produced, and way less than a Kabuki.

At this point, the Kabuki is my 'all'. I don't build coils at all, so premade is my only option, and I've tried most every topper out there under $60 bucks (til the Kabuki).

I'm a total idiot!!! I've got a 10" chop saw sitting out in the shed that it helped build:laugh::facepalm: And a band saw  and a table saw:facepalm: I thunk I might be overthinking this

A band saw with a Miter Square will do the trick... run it pretty slow-medium or the tubing will melt!

Although I like the drip tip that came with the Kabuki 510, I wanted to try one of the SS drip tips that came with the aspire Triton. I had a few extras. They were very tight and difficult to press on and they have o-rings. Does anyone know if the specs on the Kabuki would support a standard 510 drip tip with an o-ring? The one that comes with the Kabuki just presses on. No big deal, but would like the option of trying a few other tips - Thanks :)

Yes normal (not aspire) 510 drip tips fit fine I use both subtank mini and nano tips and a couple of 2 puffs with no problem.

Just don't buy this, could never get perfect 90 degree cuts with it back in the day.
I was just going to mention the same thing. The circle blades in these things tend to flex a bit when cutting metal so it never is a perfect 90 degree cut.

Standard 510 DTs should work fine. I got a mini ionizer for mine, and it needed an ever-so-slightly larger (may just be harder - I know, I know, I should've measured { hmy } but what's done is done. ) o-ring to keep it snug the way I like it.

I tried my hand at "modding" once.......

(ha ha. me. mod. yeah/no)

For some unknown reason, I got a bug in the derriere to make the little Smoktech carto tanks even smaller. I got one of those tubie cutters and it was a horrid job! Not only what I did, but just trying to do it was painfully slow. I managed, but mamma mia, they look TERRIBLE!

And this is after the finishing touches! (sand paper and trusty nail file)

Anybody want a cute little red tube cutter? (or a minuscule carto tank?) :D
