I mix my own at 92-95% VG and the balance de-ionized water - unflavored. So far, I have no wicking problems; as it gets colder, the water may increase. From some posts in the DIY forum this mixture is somewhat equivalent to 70 VG/30PG in viscosity. (I don't know that for myself, I simply trusted the posts.)
I would not say that it is fundamentally like a nautilus in use. The flavor, vapor and air draw are markedly better. "Markedly" meaning that I have not regretted buying this atomizer, not once.
I can't compare Kabuki to any of the other tanks you mention, I have never used them.
70/30 is the max I'll go. Anything higher there seems to be air bubble issues at the wicking holes. Zero problems with 70/30 I found.

I got a new bedazzled tank. Luckily I had also ordered some orings from HOH, the tank was a little big.

Yep... and labor has to be calculated at the "burdened rate" which is Hourly wage plus the following:
Total cost of the benefits provided to the employee divided by 2,080 which gives you the per hour cost of the benefits including healthcare and 401k, plus Social Security contributions, disability insurance, unemployment insurance, the cost per Sq.Ft of space the employee takes up in their job divided by the 2080.00 figure (a work year has 2,080 hours in it). So if we pay somebody 15 bucks an hour to shove O-Rings in a bag, and they can do 120 bags per hour, it looks to the outside like it costs 12.5¢ for labor... but the reality is that it's over double that... which doesn't seem like much, but that is JUST the cost to put them in a bag. They need to then be put into bins where they can be picked, and somebody needs to pick them when they are ordered, and they need to be packaged, a shipping label printed... on and on.

And the 90 Dollar tank COULD have included a spare tank and extra parts, but we would then need to charge 105.00 for it, because even though Kanger and Aspire "include" them... they are NOT free! They are reflected in the price.

And trust me, h00ligan, this "Garage Presentation" isn't made in a garage. HoH is a proper company, with well compensated professionals at the helm of the machines, which we own. My employees receive health care, vacation pay, 401K and more. The head of my machine Shop is a 26 year veteran of production and custom machine operations and is a journeyman that is well established in his field, and I'm lucky to have him in my "garage".

Our goal is to offer good value, and while we may very well be the most expensive, I feel the value is exceptional. Our customer service is second to none, our use of premium materials is unprecedented in vaping and at the risk of sounding arrogant, the Kabuki is the #1 selling USA made tank in the business.

And we have bacon in the fridge.

Anybody have 'Check atomizer' issues? First showed 5 ohms, so I took the coil out and made sure I put it back in firmly. Now it would even show ohms.. my vapor shark just says 'Check Atomizer' which is what it says when nothing i connected. Not sure what's going on - never really have issues with bvc coils.

Do you have a 510, P3 or Z2 version?

Unscrew the little allen screw in the very bottom of the tank 510 connector slightly, and keep trying it until it makes good contact for you.

Actually he should tighten that bottom allen screw. I don't believe it's meant as an "adjustable" 510 pin. It's meant to make up for variations in coil quality control from China. Best practice (I have found) is to loosen it, screw your coil in as tightly as possible, then snug up the 510 screw. That should help with connection issues.

We have soft pretzels too.... With Pink Salt... yummy.

Might I have just a loverly soft pretzel with a bit of bacon sprinkled on top, please? I promise not to call you Garage Boy. <demure smile>

Great fleur, Fleur! I saw that tank and loved it!

I must say, I do hope that Bedazzle takes care of whatever issues there were with the size of the tubes. I love her work, very much, but I've also had to play around to get mine to fit on the Kabukes.

This is sound advice. And k2zs, you are our first Kabuki professional around here (I think).

Interestingly enough - the 510 becomes recessed when I take the kabuki off my mod. I'm not sure what happened - it was working fine all day.

edit: I just put a fresh coil in. Old coil I may have messed up something on the base. Kinda bummed, some juice got into the base :( What's a best practice to get that out? And do you guys clean the bases ever?

Probably because the coil isn't screwed down far enough. Loosen the 510 screw then tighten the coil into the base, then snug up the 510 screw. It should protrude slightly when done correctly.

Finally spun in a Vaporwerx coil.

It threaded easily into both sections, no Nauti Buddy needed.
It HAD to be pre-loaded carto style, as the wicking holes are just too small. They take for ever and a week before the bubbling stops when first loaded.

This is a 1.5R coil (reads 1.6 on the ZNA30). Bumped up the wattage to 11.0 (from 10.3 for the 1.6R Aspire coil - and Yes, my insides really ARE green.) to get 4.2V off the device. Had to slightly close down on the air flow to assist wicking. Tank loaded with Halo Tribeca at 18mg strength.

Flavor was slightly muted compared to Aspire coil. Juice tasted one dimensional.
Definite drop off in throat hit - almost non-existent.
Coil wicks very slowly.
Vapor production was as good as or slightly less than Aspire coil.

Overall, these were my immediate performance impressions. I'll keep updating if I notice anything new.

Even though I don't own a Kabuki ... I am a huge Zen fan.

Let's all celebrate with some bacon sprinkled, pink salted, soft pretzels ... ever so slighty warmed in the toaster oven :)

Cheers
