Happy to be... Not Smoking!!!
I was just going to let the kabuki set for 30 min or so... do I need to put some drops down inside the coil to prime it further before first use?
Some do, some don't...

My take on it, Sure why not, a couple drops down the side.

Just a quick question - are you trying to screw the coil in, gripping the glass, or are you holding the base. Zen~ indicated, after filling the tank, attach the base and turn it backwards until you hear a click. Astroturf linked the video - here is the link.
Anybody Using A Kabuki?

Coil is installed into the base, tank is upside down so holding the top (which is on the bottom) and then the bottom (which is on the top) and trying to screw the bottom (with coil) into the chimney onto the glass

i don't know, doesn't feel right, it isn't threading, whatever. I'll send it back to provape

No, 30 minutes should be fine.

Some put a drop in each hole and then a couple in the top and still let it sit for a few minutes. Others just put a couple drops in the top and then a bit more after a minute or two until they see liquid color in the hole's on the side. I'm sure there are several routines people have developed. Afterall, it can be hard to wait 20-30 minutes, especially with a new toy.

One other chatted about routine is to start vaping a bit lower wattage than usual at first and work your way up as the coil breaks in.

Before I start twisting the bottom on I push down on it so it kind of snaps in, then I start twisting it until the base meets up with the glass. Is your base meeting up with the glass tank part?

Actually, Zen (the manufacturer) has said to contact House of Hybrids. There is a phone number on their site. Since ProVape will likely just send it to HOH, doing it direct is quicker and efficient. As you know, HOH warranties all legitimate Kabuki's -- no matter where it was bought.

It really does sound like something is wrong---maybe a Chimney escaped with no threading? Get a flashlight or good light and take a peek.

Totally discouraged and bummed it isn't working for me,

Yes, I tried twisting backwards until it snapped in and also just pushing it in until it snapped and then threading it, the base has met up with the glass, yes, but it continues to spin indefinately and I can just pull the glass off the base without unthreading it, it's like it isn't catching on to anything and completing the threading sequence, do you know what i mean? So hard to explain. I've been banging my head on my coffee table for the last 5 hours trying screw the mother ....er together but it's no dice. Unless the glass just sits over the o ring and is friction fit and spins forever i have a ....ed up tank.

It can happen, for sure. The steel of the Kabuki is a lot stronger than the metal of the coil --- so it can cross thread and such. You'll get the hang of it soon. Little force, light touch. If it's not going in smoothly, start over. That turn it backwards til it stops trick works quite well for most.

Try and clean out the chimney too --- there could be some stray shards in there waiting to annoy you later on.

I just got my first Kabuki today also. My coil was already firmly installed into the base, so I just left it. I didn't rinse mine out before first use, even though I normally do with other tanks. The coil is slowly breaking in. I have gone through about half a tank already. So far, I like the vapor production and how quiet it is. Hoping the flavor will keep improving.

I'm still awaiting my Kabuki, and I doubt I'll want to rebuild these coils, but I wasn't aware that people have.
Can you point me somewhere where this is described?
Rip Trippers posted a pretty good vid about re-building these coils. I gave it a try with the re-no res wires I have on hand and frankly, the factory coils were better than my poor attempt at a build. I didn't want to try strait wire considering the rubber insulator and possibility of the legs cooking it. These coils last for enough time that for me it's worth the price, and I do break them down and save the res- no res wires from my spent coils for rebuilding other coil shells (PT2) .

I replied to the message before I saw the problem was solved.

Im sure I saw the answer somewhere in the 215 pages of this post... but I dont want to go thru them to find it.

Are these tanks clean and ready to go or do you guys rinse them out before?

I know other tanks (KANGER) I have used have machine oil residue but I think I read that the Kabukis have been cleaned and are ready to go.

I didn't clean mine. Outta da box, in with da joose.

Dannnnnng Dude! Haven't seen you or Marley in forever.

Like Ocey & I'm sure many others, I take my tanks out their packaging & add juice. The only thing I ever had to wash first was a FastTech RDA but since I havent bought anything from there for about 1.5 yrs- nope.... I wash nothing first.
