Anybody Using A Kabuki?

Ok.... so I have a silly question
..and I was just wondering ...HOW do you know it's almost EMPTY ?

Sure, i can tell my vape is starting to not be RIGHT but how do i know that its not the coil that needs changing or it's not the battery getting too low ...Checking the battery is easy enough but...

...is there any way you guys know it's time to refill without actually unscrewing the tank to LOOK ?

Id appreciate any tips from more experienced SS tank users... ...????

I'm curious about this too. During the process of buying a Kabuki that came with an SS tank from Zen I asked him that very question. His response:

With Steel tanks on a Mini, I top off the juice when I change the battery, so far, no dry hits. Plus... you can "tell" when it needs to be refilled before burning the cotton... I can't explain it, but you CAN tell. It's just "different"

Kind of makes sense from a battery change perspective, at least I *think* an 18350 on a mini is about 1 Kabukis worth of juice. As for the "just being able to tell", someone else will have to chime in, I'd like to know too.

It's something you probably didn't pay attention to before, but you can tell when a wick is running dry. It's about how the vape changes that will be the biggest factor here. It will be hard to describe. If you are a mech user, try usin g the kabuki on a regulated mod. When you start to feel a drop off in the vape similar to how a mech's flavor drops off when the battery is getting passed the sweet spot, check the juice level.
If you use it a lot, you'll also get to know the approximate length of time for you to run low based on this method.

Otherwise, refill during battery change.

I hadn't adjusted the AFC before and did it wrong. I figured it out, but in the process over tighten the base and the Kabuki is now stuck on the Radius (P3 connection). When I try to unscrew it, the glass started unscrewing. I turned it upside down, removed the tank and still couldn't get the base to budge. When this tank of juice it empty I'm going to try it with rubber gloves.

I was thinking about this after I posted a reply to you in the other thread. Try using the wrench in the hole beside the airflow hole. If you can grip the glass and keep it from moving--the wrench might start it for you. It fits deeper in the other hole.

This is an excellent post! I can tell when my Kabuki's are down to nearly empty by the vape, they start to taste "dry". I'm pretty sure now that I could get by with a metal tank section and just feel when it need topping off. You made an excellent correlation, it is just like I can tell when the battery needs changing in my REOs, you just get a feel for it.

Is your Kabuki a P3 thread or a 510threaded base???

Just leave the glass and top tank section off, then try the rubber gloves and/or the wrench in the air hole.

Ok.... so I have a silly question

This is my FIRST time using a SS tank .Ive never wanted to use them up until now so never bought any .

I only finally ordered the SS kabuki tank because my glass tanks keep on BREAKING!
(imagine four P3's with kabukis w/glass tanks sitting in a row on a wood table in their little chinese round, aluminum stands and then imagine a very naughty CAT who totally does whatever she wants in our home ....she passes them by, back n forth, a thousand times a day, rubs up against them, even enjoys head-butting them.....!!!LOL being a (cat)parent is hard sometimes !!!! )

Anyway, Im currently waiting for Creme de Vape UK to get in the polywhatever plastic tanks but, as of yet, theyre not available here in Europe (and HoH WONT ship intl-which really depresses me by the way coz id so luv to order a Zenkote tank to go with my Zenkote P3 which is my fave of my Three P3's ...
Anyway, meanwhile I ordered SS tanks,which TG Creme de Vape UK does have...

With the ss kayfun its the same, it just tastes a little off but not the horror of a dry hit. And you know if you haven't refilled in a day or whatever its that.

I broke 2 glass tanks last night a domino fall of tube provaris. The poly is ok but nowhere near as asthetically pleasing.

My kabuki is the only atomizer I have on a regulated device (ZNA). For the past 14 months, I've been mech only baby. Pekos and a REO mini 2.1 most of the time. In the beginning, I was so paranoid about running my batteries low, I was changing them constantly. It was once I "stopped worrying and learned to love the bomb" that I learned to really feel the vape. As you know, once that happens, its a much less stressful experience! These guys'll get it. It's the same as Zen~'s constant advice of "vape to taste" or "vape by feel".

I've been through several coils and every single one has put the wicking material in my mouth / throat and lungs. Big enough pieces that I could pick out. Also I took apart a dry one and the material doesn't seem like normal organic cotton, it tears and is much harder than cotton, almost as if it's cotton fused with something else. Also the general material of the actual coil head seems like a chromed soft metal. I'm not trying to put people off this tank it just baffles me why zen would build such a high quality premium tank that uses such low quality coils, yes the flavour is good but I do not trust these coils.

Is there a warning card in the coil box about wicking properly? Sounds like its the older version 1 bvcs with silicone whatever not cotton. And possibly fake v1s as DPL said.

Was advised these are the new cotton coils from Keith at Creme De Vape. They have the larger holes and Creme de Vape get them directly from aspire I believe.
