Thanks for your help! I didn't know what glass tanks. I can't use them on my Triton Vv, so I'm "green" as to which are good. That's what I was trying to ask...which one do people suggest and most importantly what fits on this batt???
I have never used one, but have read about leaking issues (especially w/ProTanks) If it is a wicking issue, I would obviously like to avoid this so whats the issue w/the wicks?
I'm willing to pay for a high quality tank so what ever is the best is what I'm looking for. I saw one that looked cool, the glass was surrounded by a metal chrome cage...spinner something. But if its crap, I don't want it. But it looked sweet! With the Triton, you can't "jazz" it up w/cool glass tanks and crazy drip tips. Nothing is compatible w/it except for Halo parts. This is why I don't know much beyond it.
I'm researching now and ordering next week. I'm not in a hurry, don't need fast ship or lowest price. I have read great reviews on the Davide. I wasn't sure it was compatible to this threading so good to know.
Thx!
i use most of those. i like the protank II the best and @ $14.50, it's a great deal. the davide isn't bad either, but i like that the ptank II is a smaller tank, 2.5 mil. you need needle tops to fill the davides.
i have 6 mini davides, but i thought the base was too thick. that kept the tanks really cold. i replaced the bottoms with ptank II mini bottoms and liked it a lot better.
if you want small, go with ptank II mini. if you want large, most folks find no difference. having to have needle tips to load them is a pain for some.
now, imho, glass tanks don't go well with tobacco flavors. with tobacco, you want a hotter vape, drip, top coil or carto. that's just my opinion. glass tanks mute flavors a tad. not much, but bottom coil (changeable) units cool the vape a tad cuz it has to travel further from the heat to the top of the tip. thus, a slight mute and a cooler vape detracts a little from some flavors. a hard menthol won't be a noticeable difference. and for bakery flavor or nutty flavors, i just up the flavoring (as i DIY most of the stuff i like) and i prefer the glass. i also vape dulce de leche all day long, so cooler vape is better.
i don't really have dripping issues, but as you vape more, you try saving money. we change the silica wicks for cotton wicks, not enough wick can let the juice pass by. a burnt out wick can do the same.
when using vw, as opposed to vv, the battery keeps the coil at the right voltage, so the coils last longer. for wicking, i've tried yarn, q-tip tops and cotton balls (all 100% cotton). the cotton balls manipulate easier, so you can make your wicks the perfect size. some folks, re-wick once or twice a week and then only change the coils at the months end or so (give or take). the coils can also be rebuilt.
they all use the same coils, but kanger are hands down the best, DV sells them cheap:
ProTank Coil Heads
they appear to be low/out, but they are probably awaiting their first shipment since the Chinese Holiday.
there are much more expensive tanks, but i don't use them. check thread here:
Tanks
and here:
Clearomizers
Rebuildable Atomizer Systems
those folks are the masters of $$ tanks. they rebuild just about everything. me, i'm just a poor boy, i need no sympathy, cuz i'm easy come easy go....
