Thank you for posting all this great info. Good to know that going from 12mg to 8mg to 0mg shouldn't be too noticeable.

(My dad had a heart attack on Wed. and his cardiologist wants him on ecig only and 0mg. He was already down to 5 real stix and 12mg cartridges. He was getting there, but his heart couldn't handle the adjustment.. :/ He's doing really well now. Doc said he'll have a slow but full recovery. Got home today and is happily puffing away on his ecig in the bedroom, lol.)

Wishing your dad a full recovery.
I have been on Blu-Cigs for a month, and have just upgraded to an Ego setup. Have just ordered my first batches of 12mg juice, and plan to work my way down to 0 from there.

there has got to be some kind of natural safe ingredient to add that is not nicotine that gives you that "hits the spot"... its out there, and waiting to be discovered
if throat hit is all you are waiting for to 0 nicotine?, get an RBA. they kick you in the teeth no matter what strength you are using

24 days no nicotine. still free, no urges, no backsliding (despite all the jars of nic juice i have, i ordered 2 more bottles of 0 from fuzion vapors. (unicorn blood, and gumby blood) hoping they stand up to the hype) it is real nice being no longer married to the nic fix. leaving the PV home more and more now. vaping dropping off alot.

I tried going to 0 about a year ago, it didn't stick. But I think I was vaping 12mg then, maybe it was too much of a jump. I am currently vaping 3mg, my next batch of juice will probably be 1mg. After the 1mg I will probably try and go to 0 again.
if at first, you don't succeed.

A lot of people have tried, and there have been a number of such products on the market.
As far as I know, none of them worked well enough to catch on.

Congrats, soon it will be one month! :toast:

I was buying extra high nic strength juice when I started vaping but when I started DIY juice I began at 18mg/ml. I hit a brick wall three weeks after changing to vaping, missing some of the other WTA's but worked through it and am improving. It was a nasty two weeks at work, I've got to say. I've dropped the DIY nic down to 16mg/ml and honestly don't notice much difference, but I am going to go back to 80/20 PG/VG for the throat hit, and also in the hope that my Vivi Novas will work better with a thinner juice.

I'll stay at 16mg/ml for a few more weeks, but will drop to 14mg/ml eventually. Because of this I'm only mixing smaller batches so steeping times are out the window. I think I'm moving away from tobacco flavours slowly, so maybe this won't be a big issue.

Thanks again for the inspiration.

I did not start this journey to give up all of my nicotine addiction. My main goal was to find some way of "smoking" without constantly poisoning myself with tar and other products of combustion. Now that I'm nearly over the whole tobacco cigarette thing, I'm finding the move to lowering nicotine levels to be just a natural progression, but not going to put pressure on myself. If I can get to 0mg then all well and good.

I'm also enjoying nose hit more and vapour inhalation less, which makes sense when you know how vaping works.

Last interesting point: When I gave up smoking using traditional NRT previously, tobacco smoke from others always smelt great, and I wanted to be there; hence the relapse even after three years I guess. Now that I'm vaping, tobacco smoke smells absolutely foul and I'm hoping this is a sign that I'm over tobacco permanently, and is possibly one reason why my tastes are starting to move away from the tobacco flavourings. This is a problem because I'm having trouble finding types of flavours I prefer to the tobacco ones. I even tried a watermelon and while it was interesting for one batch I have no wish to mix up another. FA watermelon anyone?

I think a lot of people that like tobacco flavors also gravitate towards some of the darker and richer flavors.
Things like coffee, chocolate, and/or caramel based flavors.

Great thread! I've been wondering about the whole nic strength business. Having no real clue I just got myself 6mg juice as my ciggies were 0.7 and I figured that that would be the closest in strength. I have noticed that it feels a lot lighter and almost wondered if I should go up to 12. Also to see if it'd help with the giving me some more energy as my energy levels have dropped drastically since quitting 27 days ago.
What do you guys think?

I was vaping either 24 or 18mg for the past couple of months and when I ran out of juice last week I was kind of freaking out as I lost my job and haven't had money to buy more. So my friend bummed me a bit of his and a couple days later I asked him was strength it was and he said oh its 0 nic. and I was stunned. I haven't had any of the cravings and I'm starting to feel like I conquered my addiction and may stick to 0 nic juice, because I don't plan on stopping my vaping any time soon.

forget everything you were taught about nicotine. it's bull. the point you were told it was 0, you were already sporting nicotine free red blood cells. keep it up. it's awesome being free.

9 or 10mg/ml would be the equivallent vape strength for the nicotine you were on (according to common wisdom on ECF). There's also much more than just nicotine in a cigarette including a range of WTA's (whole tobacco alkaloids) that your body is going to have to learn to do without. If you're happy on the 6mg/ml then that's fine, but there's no problem with overcompensating with the nicotine while you do this. I'm finding that nicotine is much easier to reduce than it is to do without those WTA's in the beginning.

I went from rolly tobacco to 24mg/ml nicotine vaping, had a tough two weeks with WTA withdrawal (weeks 3 and 4 actually), and reduced my nicotine to 18mg when I started mixing my own juice. I'm now mixing a 16mg/ml and liking it. That's a significant reduction in a very short time.

If you are craving cigarettes or if you find you want to vape more than you feel you should, try increasing the nicotine content. I don't chain vape as much as I did when I was going over the hump and it's increasing my appreciation of vaping, not diminishing it.

As always, YMMV, but it's much better to vape more nicotine than be tempted by tobacco.

I'm finding this amazing. I'm still getting nicotine cravings but I hope that by the time I reduce my nic intake to less than 10mg/ml I'll be reporting the same results. Everyone is different I guess.

0mg vaping is also cheaper! You can buy PG and VG from local sources, and if you had no money I guess you could use food flavours. A lot of the vape flavours we use already are actually food flavours that are suitable for vaping. Historically, isn't that what FlavourArt was all about?

Somone posted a list of the the FlorAnn flavours and marked them as suitable or not. The main criterial seems to be that they are water soluble, and contain no alcohol. This seems to eliminate about one in three of the FlorAnn flavours, mainly from specific flavour groups where non-water soluble compounds are used for extraction. It's important to research the flavourings if you are going to do this.

Yes, but they are so hard on the atomiser, especially caramels. I'm also finding them a little overpowering - nice for a change, but not for an all day vape. I'm finding the straight coffee (as in strong black coffee) a great freshener for the palate. It gets rid of the vape-mouth from using those tobacco flavours all day and I can taste them again.

I haven't tried chocolate yet, maybe I should put it on the list.

That depends. How many of those cigarettes were you smoking per day?
