My Vamo V2 just decided the other day it was done with me. Go to vape, nothing doing. Try settings. Nothing. Tried unlocking it, nope, and I even pulled and swapped batteries till all of my batts had been in it. Does anyone know if this is pseudo-common, and if it is, is there a good way to open the casing and repair a wire or replace a chip? Or is my new favorite toy just done for?
Anyone else have a V2 just quit on em?

Seems par for the course. Good news is you can pick up a new one for about 40 dollars these days or consider a good excuse to upgrade
I have seen the Vamo chip set for about $11.00 on the fasttech web site.
You could try pulling the center pin out and see if it's shorting. There's just enough wire on the center pin to clear the 510 connector.
If it is a short causing your problem you can replace the insulator.
I had the dreaded 02 error on mine and replaced the insulator with a Danco #60 O-Ring and it's working fine again.

I've had mine for one full year but it has been in rotation with a SID I picked up a week later. Both of these MOD's have been good to me.

I still have my v2. Over a year later, it's still alive but I think it's because it was quickly sidelined by my SVD and more recently by my mechs. Let's face it, it's not the most well-made device, especially the V2. Mine is crooked, the threading is messed up and none of my toppers sit flush on it.
On the plus side, it's a good excuse to pick up something new.

What course are you playing on?
I have an original - i.e. first run Vamo v1 and it still works like new.
Fasttech carries the Chipset cheap.
Removing the Top is a Pain but replacing the board is simple.
Update: My nemmy clone was being a ..... the other day so I 'Merica fixed the Vamo. Couple of solid whacks against my hand and it went right back on, which suggests a loose wire or something inside of it. I doubt I'm going to mess with it much, unless there is a decent tutorial to removing the top cap of it. I did notice the top cap got knocked loose at some point in its life, so I straightened that back out. Perks to working the B&M: Next to unlimited access to "broken" stuff. Its a drawback too, I spend too much time scratching my damn head.
On that note I have considered grinding the airflow holes off the ego connection to get my devices to seat on it nicely, almost nothing I have actually -uses- those airholes as most have independent airflow controllers on them. My only concern would be excessive heat, but the non-flush fit bugs the hell out of me too!
You might have single-handedly ended my relationship with this one....
