Well... I can't eat regular lasagna anymore anyway, since I discovered my sensitivity to tomatoes. But to me, something that's just vegetables... that's a side dish, and requires meat to make a meal.

Never have understood vegetarianism, and never will. I don't eat a huge amount of meat, but there must be SOME. Can't get B12 from anything but animal sources -- or pills. I hate taking pills. :D

This being our 27th wedding anniversary, tonight we're going to Outback... STEAK TIME!!! :thumb:

Happy Anniversary, Andria! Enjoy that steak!

Lets cut through all the BS and "what-ifs".
If you think the stuff you want to buy will be cheaper in a year, wait and buy it then.
If you think the stuff you want to buy will be more expensive in a year, then buy it now.
What do you think the chances of nicotine liquid (in particular) to be cheaper or more expensive in a year?
Hmmm?

Well, hope for the best but prepare for the worst, I would say.

I have enought nic base in the freezer to make 2 gallons of e-liquid (!),
So about 7.5 liters? I would go though that in less than 5 years. And since I've quit smoking, I think I might live longer than that. :D

Well, 5 years is more than long enough for ... uhm.. other suppliers to enter the market. If you know what I mean ;)
Where there is demand, there is supply. It just takes a little while to build up the market ;)

Yes, I have no doubt there will be alternate suppliers, and it probably won't take them 5 years to enter the market. The catch however will be the price. To see what I mean, just compare the the price of a pound of premium pipe tobacco with the price of a pound of certain other plant materials that can also be smoked, but which are only available from "alternate" suppliers. :D

While most agree that VG and PG will continue to be available and flavoring will always be there. It appears that there's more concern over the availability of nicotine. Nicotine can be rendered from raw tobacco. While the average layperson won't have the commercial applications to achieve the quality or concentrations of nicotine available today, you can steep tobacco in a solution to come up with a working alternative. While I highly doubt that tobacco as we know it will be totally banned in my lifetime, the taxes will make it too expensive to purchase usable amounts. But, if you're desperate enough you can grow it yourself. Or there's one other alternative left........just quit vaping.

For flavor, yes. For vapable nicotine, the process is quite difficult and far more involved than just "steeping".

Unacceptable.

Here's the thing re: nicotine and banning supplies (this is ALL just my opinion so take it for what it is)

The FDA has to come up with a real reason to ban the purchase of this product (juices), hence all the studies to determine safety. They HAVE to equate it to cigarettes in order to regulate the product as a dangerous element. If they could do that now, the laws would already be in place. They CAN'T. They are trying, and hey, if they ever do really find that there are serious health consequences to using e-juices, I think we'd all really like to know that, but I doubt they ever will. The best they, and BT can do right now is attempt the smear campaigns in the media that they are trying now, all based on assumptions that have no true facts.

To TAX the product and/or ban internet sales of it, the (US) government HAS to deem the product unsafe or dangerous!!!!! B&M sales stores are already taxed, but they want it to be taxed at SIN TAX rates. In order to do that they HAVE to equate them to cigarettes as a danger! THEY WANT to ban intneret sales, BUTTTTT in order to do that they HAVE to show danger or health related hazards. Otherwise they open themselves up to horrendous law suits since they haven't banned the ability to sell any other product online. Even the U.S. governement in all it's strength and power can't willy-nilly ban or restrict the sale of a product at the expense of any other.

They havne't been able to find a way to realistically tax online sales yet, (they are trying), but even if they do eventually manage it (they want it) the taxes would still just be regular sales tax, NOT SIN TAX unless they can PROVE the hazard (they can't yet).

So worrying about banning, high taxation, etc... at least here in the U.S. ( I certainly can't make any guesses on other countries.) is all based on the idea that vaping is a safe alternative to cigarettes. I believe it is, and that they will not ever be able to prove all the scary 'assumptions' they are banding about now.

You know, I agree with you completely. BUT, the gov't's ability --and penchant -- for doing stupid, dangerous things passes all belief. Who'd have thought they'd have legislated deregulation to the point that the unscrupulous could completely lay waste to the US (and world) economy?
