Seems the majority of vapers vape at high watt/high volt. I mostly notice this with mech mods/drip setups.

I have a feeling lower watt/voltage has to do with over the counter attys, as it seems they dont tolerate higher watt/voltage.

Sooo...who vapes at lower settings? I do! Ive got an eVic and nautilus tank, using 1.8ohm attys. I run at 6.5 watts / 3.42 volts.

6.5watts @ 2.5 ohm with a protank/mini protank (or maybe 3.5v)

7.5-8.0 watts @ 2.0 ohm with a dripper

I too wonder about the 11+ watt folks but I think this is more for the vapor. Some say flavor extraction is better but high wattage just "warms" up the juice too much for me and it tastes burnt. All depends on what we vape I suppose.

There is more to vaping than Ohms Law, There are also laws of thermodynamics. With an understanding of thermodynamics it becomes easy to make 30 watts vape cooler than 6 watts. The real question is which is more efficient, and how do you as an individual define efficency. It's easy to set this stuff up so that a half dozen hits/day would give you all the nicotine you need, or you can set it up so that you could chain vape all day long on a single battery. Neither would be right, or wrong, for every individual.

I adjust for the taste that I want, and the voltage/resistance/wattage ends up being whatever produces that taste.

sometime it's hard to know which is the right way to go

It's interesting to hear what others are using in terms of power... But on the other hand it's all pretty meaningless without other specific details accompanying it. For example:

Juice - PG/VG ratios, nicotine levels, flavor additives, flavor base (alcohol/non-alcohol/other), other ingredients... water, unicorn tears, etc

Coils - Kanthal, nichrome, ceramic, other, wrap size/diameter total length used

Then there's all the hardware variables... plus to a lesser extent... environmental variables like ambient temperature, relative humidity, barometric pressure which can influence vapor production.
