I wasn't quite sure where to post this so I thought I'd try general. I have been stabbed twice by kanthal in the past three days. And let me tell you it hurt like a [Moderated]!!! It felt like a needle stabbing into me.

The first time was when I was cleaning up my desk after a build. I had a couple of pieces of excess kanthal and I went to close my hand and one of the strands stuck straight in! It hurt so bad I yelled. The second time I was just walking around my room barefoot and I stepped on what felt like a thumb tack. I then pulled about half an inch of kanthal out of the bottom of my foot.

Sorry kind of a long post but I thought I would explain my experience. I never realized how sharp kanthal is! Just seeing if anyone has had a similar experience.

if you build much it's a given . Got a real bad one the other day stepped on a piece of heavy gauge stuff and it went in deep. Got to do some serious vacuuming and get out the nail sweeper. I think i'm going to build a thing to put on my work area a magnet on a stand to hold my wire chips so they won't end up who knows where.

Yup.. been there, done that. one helpfull hint, get a REAL strong magnet and magnet sweep the floor from time to time. It's one of the main reasons I do my coil building in the bathroom... smaller area to "sweep for strays", and no carpet.

Another hint... if your wife steps on it, be sure to bring out the picture framing wire and claim you were doing some work. :)

Being a life time guitar player, I've been stabbed by cut string ends ends more times than I can count. Kanthal is almost like a guitar string, only not quite as stiff. It's definitely an ouch moment.
I feel you on that as well, been getting stabbed by wires/strings by my own stupidity since I was 13, lol.

Sent from the mothership.

My wife makes wire jewelry. We always have little bits or wire in the carpet! Vacuum cleaner gets the bigger pieces, but bare feet usually get the smaller ones!

But, on the plus side, I have all kinds of tools to use for making coils!!!

This thread is going to wind up in the ANTZ arsenal of "E-Cig related injuries". LOL

I just noticed that on Friday I hit one year without a cigarette. All my friends said that Hell would "freeze over" if I made it to that day. Got to check the weather.

Wouldn't you actually have to, ... um, ... go to Hell to verify that meterological forecast? I mean, unless you have The Weather Channel Hell Edition.

Stabbed and burned!

Don't ask!

There has been a couple of times I have been adjusting a coil and accidentally push down on my mod with the battery still in and the locking ring disengaged (I know that's not the best way to make adjustments haha), but anyways, if I would accidentally push down and one of the legs are touching the outside rim of the drip well, it will instantly burn me, causing me to jump, causing the damn thing to go straight into my finger or hand. That has happened on 3-4 different occasions. You would think I would have learned by now, but nope!

Magnets are your best friend when it comes to vaping and organization!!
