Anyone ever do a Lazrus on a G6 manual battery?

My beloved emerald green battery is out of warranty and wont fire anymore. The pin wasn't gunky at all (only did around 5 use/recharge cycles on it). But I did do the q-tip/alcohol thing. I verified that it isn't the tanks, they all work fine on the other G6's/Tritons I have. Since it is out of warranty I did try to gently nudge the pin up a bit, but all to no avail. The charger won't even recognize that it is attached which is why I thought the pin may have gotten pushed in.

So rather than complain about customer no service (They replied with the alcohol thing in a day) and cross my fingers for the seasonal everything for free sale, I figured I would accept that it was out of the 30 day warranty period and see if anyone had any advice on what else I could try.

I have others, but not another emerald green one, so I wouldn't have to order a replacement right now, but darn it's a pretty green. :)

I'm starting to question the battery quality on the G6 a little bit. I've had my kit for a little over a week and already have one battery that I have to struggle with to get it to charge, and forget about using a mini-tank on it. However it will fire a carto just fine. I have a ticket in with Halo, just need to hear back from them. I knew I should have just ordered the Triton.

My automatic works with all mini-tanks (and cartos) I've tried. Ordered another to see if it will too. The manual has a slightly different style contact point. I have 2 manuals they will each work with some mini-tanks and not with others. I wiggled the contact point on one to get and got it to work with more tanks but after then putting a carto on it pushes the post back down. So the contact gap is recreated and it can't fire on that tank once more.
Halo's customer service has been exemplary in my case. Their policy is 'no returns on tanks due to sanitation' but, made an exception in my case. This, according to them, is the first they've heard of this issue. Then I asked to return the manual batteries so we could skirt the sanitation issue altogether. They said no prob.

I changed my mind and decided to get another auto to test if the contact post is the issue(which should arrive today). And keep the manuals for backup as they work on all 'cartos' so far. Halo contacted me back letting me know if I decided to return the manuals I could and then they would credit my card.

But I feel their policy on this type of thing could use some reviewing. Sending the 2 batteries back would have left me with only one. An essentially half functional G6 kit while I'd have to wait for shipping to and from and their diagnostic. I'm sure that would take 2 to 4 weeks.

Interesting. I also am using the manual batteries, and was told the mini-tank I have must be defective and cannot be returned. They did offer for me to send the suspect battery back for evaluation and possible replacement if it was found to be defective. This is not an option for me considering it would leave me with half of a kit, not a good thing since I am using this as a smoking cessation product (five days in and only one analog!). I'm not exactly happy with the situation considering I haven't had the kit for a week yet, I was incorrect in my above post since I just received my kit last Wednesday.

What to do...

Appears if you want to use the mini-tanks with the G6, my experience has shown you have to stick to the automatic batteries.

I have 7 minis. One in each color. The 65mm 'auto' works on every Halo 'mini' and 'carto' I've tried. But I've only tried 4 of the tanks I've had. I burnt one by not allowing enough time for the wicks to absorb the juice. My fault. The 72mm automatic, I just got, works on the 3 I have left that I've tried. So 4 for 4 on the 65 and 3 for 3 on the 72 automatics. The 102mm manual worked on 2 of 4 and the 72mm manual 1 of 4 out of the tanks that I've tried..

I guess I'm going to have to stick to the LR cartos until I'm allowed to buck up for the Triton. :(

CS said that I can feel free to pay for another battery and then get refunded when they receive my bad one.
Got this link from Cinder's thoughts. So if your thinking 'bout a Triton and don't mind Emerald Green, here's your chance to get a free one: Halo Cigs Review G6 & eLiquids - Spinfuel eMagazine (Kind of ironic since the OP was trying to replace an 'emerald green' battery.)

Since I already have a Triton, I won't enter. =)

Other than this one battery I have not had any problems with the G6's, I have an additional manual one and a auto. I have used all 3 with the tanks and never had a problem. But I don't use them all that much honestly. The first week I used my kit quite a bit, then the Triton came out and I could not resist it. If it had been available when I first started (which as it turns out was only a week before the Triton hit the site) I would have waited as well.

I still like the form factor of the G6 though for certain times. Sitting on the deck with a beer, in bed, etc.

QC got it and checked it already... I am an idiot.

Never fill your cartos or tanks when attached to the battery. Apparently it will get in there no matter how careful you are. I never even saw any juice or anything on the threads. Lesson learned, oops.
Yeah, I've had some leak onto the G6 batteries. Shorts the power temporarily but hasn't killed one dead yet. The posts seem to be sealed pretty good. Now if Halo could source some 'manual' 808d-1s that make a more consistent connection with the minis that'd be great.
