I have been using the Subtank Mini for a while and love. Couple weeks ago I bought the new vertical heads and they were horrible. Almost immediately everything was burnt. I never got a head to last a full day, most after a tank or two would be dead with constant dry hits. The horizontal coils were pretty much perfect with no real complaints other than they could be a few bucks cheaper. I tried the RBA and always get a funky taste with them, used both Walreens organic and japanese organic cotton with the same results.

The vertical coils I got were from the same vendor I bought my horizontal coils and they tested geniune on the Kanger website. Did I get not one but two bad boxes or are there something different about them affecting the durability. It's smaller online vendor but I have never had any problems with them with numerous orders. I'm looking at going back to horizontal. Would prefer RBA but constantly get a horrid taste out of them. Found an old OCC coil in one of my boxes so need to order something tonight. Sorry for the long post but thanks for the help.

For what it's work I am low watt vapor, usually 15 watts with 50/50 juice.

Um, yeah, I had the very same problem with my VOCC coils, also using 15 watts with 50/50 juice. It was like the wicks couldn't handle the juice or something. Now, my RBA didn't taste funky, but it was always so hot, made me cough, no matter what wattage I was running. I put the same juice in my Nautilus Mini, and the flavor was great with no coughing. I wish I could solve your problem, but can't even solve my own problems with this tank, yet. :(

The Kanger VOCCs are extremely fickle during the first day of use.

I've found them to have a funky taste until the coil is broken in - and that's with careful priming, letting the tank soak, taking priming puffs, slowly ramping up the wattage, etc.

I vape 70-80% VG in my tanks and the shortest lifespan I've encountered with Kanger VOCCs was 10 days (custard), the longest 21 days (fruit, and it could have gone longer but the flavor was muted). I've only used around 15 pre-built vertical coils though, so it's a small sample size.

I haven't had any issues with them but I only used the 2 that came with my subtank mini and then swapped to the rba

I ran the .5 at 30 watts from the first puff and went up to 50 watts no problems.

I did prime it well.and let it sit in a full tank for 10 minutes or so b4 I started vaping

Also I believe the minimum wattage stamped right on the coil is 15 is it possible you were just using to low of wattage and they gunked up? I use 80-100% vg also at this moment I'm vaping my rba with a 26 gauge. .43ohm parallel coil at 30 watts no issues at all
