hahahahahah--yes only you can hold them in your hand as you enjoy the excessive heat of the noisy projector with something like 1000 watt bulb that went for 25.00-

and enough heat to warm your living room ----if I remember right-----been a very long time since this experience......

Ok, so I am at work and I get a frantic call from my SO. She is distraught saying some undercover cops came to the house and wanted to question me about some purchases I made online. She tells them I am at work and they will find me there. I thanked her for the heads up and hung up the phone, dumbfounded. First off, I dont do drugs or illegal activities and second off, if I did, I surely wouldn't go online to do so. So, not wanting to create a scene at my office, I go down to the entrance of our building not knowing what to expect. 10 mins later two official looking SUVs and a truck with some big dudes come rolling into the parking lot. One pulls into a space beside me one rolls up to me and asks my name and the other just sits there. I felt surrounded but was not worried as I knew there had to be a mistake. They all exit their vehicles and come up to me. The first gentleman tells me he is the USPS mail inspector and offers his hand. I shake it and shakily ask what was going on. He has two of my vapemail packages in his hands, one is already opened. He tells me the company I ordered from out of Texas is being investigated by the police they were here to find out if my packages contained illegal substances. The opened package was my authentic 26650 Fat Snow Wolf I got for a great deal. He pulled it out and opened it up and asked me how it worked. I went through the positive and negative contacts, how the battery goes in, how the atty attaches and what happens when you press the switch. I assured them I only use liquid nicotine in my atties and tanks and that I do not use ......... in them. He was satisfied with my knowledge of the device and asked me if he could open the second package. I said please do. As he opened it, I told him it should be the Chi You Mech clone I ordered. Indeed it was and, again he opened it and inspected it to make sure it didn't have anything illegal in it. They told me about the investigation into the company I had ordered from and said they were satisfied knowing I had not ordered anything illegal. The guys were really cool after that and I told them how good vaping has been for me to get off cigs. I also said I would never be ordering from that company again. I knew there was nothing wrong but god I was freaked out for a moment there. Anyone had a similar experience? Also, not sure if it is right for me to out the company I ordered from but if you guys want to know I can share...

That must have been freaky man, it's a good thing you kept your cool! :) Great work!

I remember, I think, didn't some states make it illegal to own adult ah, marital aids, lol. Maybe they thought it was some other type of battery operated device. Just really heavy duty, lol
:w00t::lol: I have steered clear of some mechs for this very reason. When I brought out my first 26650 mech with the big buddha evil eye rta by EHPro, a work buddy commented on how much it looked like a dil_o.

And this is why, when people tell me how we're all just one big family, and that nobody would put titantium oxide in my ejuice, and that everyone in the vape community has my best interest at heart....yada yada yada

I'm would be absolutely STEAMING angry if my personal life was impacted like this. And if this is an ecf vendor, you need to out them by name.

This isn't cool, and I would be livid if I had my packages tracked like this because of some crooks mailing me stuff.

Even if the company is selling those things related to things we can't mention on this site, it shouldn't matter. As long as the company doesn't sell illegal SUBSTANCES, NO ONE should be bothered.

And we know this how?

I truly do not want to buy vape related stuff that can also be "tied in" with other purposes.

I do not want my personal life impacted this way. I live in a small commmunity where I am friends with the postmasters, etc.

The Inspector was definitely more of an FBI type than a postal worker type. The way these guys came at me didn't seem like it was a battery related issue.
Because it wasn't. Guess I am seeing this differently than some of you. They do not go thru THIS MUCH trouble over a package unless there is something pretty serious "in the works" and they are just in the evidence gathering process against someone they probably already have the goods on.

Seems like they went through a lot of trouble to simply confront you with the 2nd, unopened, box after opening the 1st while you were not present and not finding anything. Tax dollars at work.

IN this time and space they are most interested in wasting as much tax payer money as they possibly can.

No, and I see no reason they needed to do such. USPS has full authority to inspect any package contents they wish for contraband. No need to address the end recipient.

Charges can be laid in both directions if contraband is found.

Not unless you sign for the package.
Otherwise people could just ship you contraband from a fake return addy and get you arrested.

Furthermore, unless there was a federal investigation into the "store" for actually shipping "substances" (not gear) that shouldn't have ever happened.
No offense but I personally don't believe this happened.
Maybe 15 years ago, but not these days over some gear.

I can assure you it happened to me. I was scared sh!tless. It was the weirdest and wildest experience I have been through recently. I was scared to lose my job honestly. As I mentioned vaping is pretty much frowned upon there and the fact that cops showed up for packages that were destined for my office, god. I feel really stupid for that and will not be ordering anything further there. I know I dodged a bullet by waiting for them outside. I really thought my SO was playing a joke on me.
I am being honest. I'm not trying to scare anyone or joke around.

USPS inspectors ? Yeah, sure ...

Let's say I run/own this outfit in Texas, making my living by selling vaping gear. Then some honchos who are obviously too dumb to google line items from a delivery slip in a mail package are griefing my customers.
I'd have lawyers climbing all over you faster than you can say suit...

One of my best friends in high school, got surrounded by unmarked vehicles one night. They flipped lights on him, pulled out the bullhorn. Had him face down on the street.

Apparently, he was walking past a mailbox that had been either tampered with or threatened in some way.

It was prom night. He was in a tux. In front of his date's house.
The girl and her whole family watching out the window...

Poor guy - I'm still laughing at him, and it was a loooong time ago.
:D :D :D :D :D

I guess if the shop was shipping actual contraband and under investigation... Maybe with a court order.

But over gear?
Opened your mail?

Nope.

That's is a direct violation of 18 U.S.C ss 1703. It's a Federal crime and can get them a year in jail.
Even a cop would go to jail, and they know better.
It's no joke and even the NSA doesn't touch your mail.

Edited to add:
If by some chance this really did happen as told, a felony was committed.
Call the postmaster and file a written report.

Your kidding, I've always wanted a bridge in Brooklyn..

How much?

Go on Op its truly believable story these days, they cannot do that, but yeah truly believable..

The person packing it may have had a lunch break and residue left on their hands..
Boom dog alerts them and they go into due process having court papers that a judge signed off on and were in full, "we gon get em mode".. They got Kareem Abdul Jabaar the same way..

I was so scared about them coming to work. I immediately went down to meet them. Vaping is a no no here.
Wait, what?

slow day at the postal office ... who's up for a road trip?

Not really. The key words are "unlawfully", "improperly", and "without authority". If they have their legal bases covered, they can (almost) do what they want during the course of an investigation.
