You know what bob, you could be dead right about that. I remember reading something similar many moons ago, so obviously forgot about it. A very good point trish, and one worth taking into consideration.
So what do I do about that? ..had enough replacing stuff and don't want to build coils at any cost. I'm neglecting far too much as it is.
I may have lost a lot of my concentration, but chasing after stuff and trying and eliminating has cost me many hours ...no weeks of time over the past 6 months.
It's all becoming just a pain in the backside! :(

Trish the offer will always be open, be it from me ian or anyone else to do the coils for you. All it will cost is postage, and you won`t have to do any more chasing around. :) Maybe just something to consider, and if you are better with cotton or rayon wicks, well at least you will have found out that silica has been your problem. Just a thought.

You can take ANY pre-built coil and replace the wick, not that hard. Rayon is the "hot" wick at the moment, but there is nothing wrong with organic cotton. Here is a video review of wicking.

I don't want to be a pain to anyone though ..it's OK perhaps Ian doing some now and then, and I can send him some liquid I can't use in exchange, and I'm really happy to know I'll get some before too long (I haven't been anywhere near the post office for weeks) but I feel awful if I need to rely on you all like that.
I'll try and get them sent to Ian tomorrow ..they're in a package, so I'll send them and perhaps after his holiday he'll do some for me. No way do I want this type of thing free though - that's just not fair and I'd feel terrible about it.

Gosh! Doesn't look like fun to me - haven't watched it all because I'm working on something at the moment. I'm afraid I'm the type of person who can't even face sewing a button on! I hate fiddling with stuff like that.
I'm no sewer, knitter or anything else like that, but I happily do housework etc. (apart from ironing!)
The family has been literally amazed the past 30 years to see the hours I'll sit working on paintings, often with tiny brushes ..it's the only thing I ever had any patience with in my life! :)

I think that is a very good point it could easily be the silica that you don't get on with I think you need a cotton microcoil fast to try to eliminate it and a rayon one we will help you to sort it Trish you hang in there we don't want any of our mates going back to the dark side
I'll try one when I get a chance then - I have some ready to send to Ian for when he gets back from holiday, and I do actually still have a couple of coils he sent to me weeks back ...I just remembered they're in a jiffy bag not two feet away from me! - I'll ask him what they're done with tomorrow! :)
One way or another, it'll test the theory about this! :)
No, I don't want to smoke cigarettes again, but lately it's all been too frustrating and time consuming trying to track different things down to try.

I was just going to ask if she had sent her coils off to Ian as I knew he had offered to re-wick them for her. I've just bought a box of Rayon myself, just wish I could get my coiling up to scratch.

I love Phil's videos, and that was a very good one, loved the comment "didn't boil my cigarettes"

And don't forget, if the wick needs changing it's quite easy to just tease out the old one and put a new one in, the coil itself will last a lot longer than the wick, there's a good video here of how to do it, it's for the NatureVape Mini but most heads are similar

I finally got the package sent! I can go ages without actually leaving the house apart from a walk with the dogs! I've often wished our PO was in walking distance :)
At least once Ian gets back off holiday, they'll be there, and if he's still happy to, can do them as and when he feels like it :)

Didn't look too fiddly ..the part where the cotton wool gets pulled apart and twisted made me cringe though! Cotton wool always sets my teeth on edge
I'd always imagined this wick stuff to be something like a reel of thread or ball of string!

Well I've been a bit busy today, so this will be my only check in.

Ended up doing some O/T at work so got home about 7.30pm, had some food then opened my latest FT order.

Got 2 of the Stillare drippers, plus some different coloured heat shrink so I can re-wrap my batteries that are starting to look a bit ragged.

So, decided to have a try at modding one of the drippers to fit my Reo. Spent ages taking the press fit positive post out, carefully cut a groove in the insulator and took a small cutting disc to the positive post to make a juice channel. Took me nearly 3 hours to do it all and I was really pleased with myself with the result. Came to try it on the Reo and the bloody thing is too wide to screw in - lesson learned, next time try a dry fit before modding

-----------------------------------

I've replied to your message Trisha about the coil heads, we'll get you sorted out don't worry.

Bob, I saw that review the other day, it's FUGLY (that's ugly with the "F" word in front of it )

Terry, remember my modding error - measure twice, mod once (as long as it fits)

Burnie, thanks for keeping things on course mate :D

Ron, I'll sort out the heads for Trisha with silica, cotton and rayon - see which works best :D

--------------------------------

Right that's me done for the night

Night all.

Hey all, well my new lappy arrived today. It already had 8.1 pre installed so less messing for me :) When i registered the lappy, bloody Mc afee was installed automatically. I soon got rid of that and downloaded avast :)

I must admit i was a bit concerned about the win 8, but it seems great. Them tile thingies can even be un pinned, so you just have what you require there, and as ian said, just click on the desktop tile and all the stuff you mostly use is there straight away.:)

In other news my MT baker juices shipped today, after ordering last night. I got...Bavarian cream/Blood orange/Blue moo/Dutch apple pie/Pineapple upside down cake. All 50/50 24 mg with extra shots. Looking forward to getting these.

In other / other news :D I was chatting with my eldest son before on facebook, and he kept asking me to go on oovoo or facetime, for a face to face chat. I explained to him that i was using my new lappy and hadn`t yet set it up, He was insistnent and i knew he had something he wanted to tell me face to face, so i just told him to chat and tell me...Spit it out man

Anyhoo, long story short is I am going to be a grandad :) :D  :toast: :rickroll:
