I have already tried that trish, but where it is supposed to show bluetooth ie: in the devices, It`s not even there. What`s frustrating me is this, The laptop is advertised as having it, and it seems there are files on the lappy, just nowhere to turn it on or off.
You are probably missing the BT driver for your laptop. Try going to the manu site under support and see if you can find one. You can also try going to control panel / System / device drivers and seeing if you have a missing BT driver. Not sure how to get there with Windows 8.1. Could be under settings.

Hope the cotton one does the trick Trisha.
Nope, it won't work properly, so likely needs re-doing.

You can use the "Fugly" word whenever you need it, there's no copyright or trademark on it
Great, I popped it in my vocabulary box for future use! ;)

It is under Settings (the sprocket icon) on the right side. Select control panel and then System and then Device Manager. If it is there, right click on it and try looking for hardware changes or updating your driver.

I had a look at device manager, and cannot see any driver for bluetooth. :(

Are there any devices that are not working? If not, you may not have Bluetooth on your machine. You should be able to see it. Expand the various sections. Can't remember what section Bluetooth shows up in. Should be same as USB.

It says on the box that it has bluetooth Ian, but i am not sure it has. I have had a good look around the laptop, and although i can find files for bluetooth when i search files etc, in reality i dunno what i am looking for. :(

Aw! wish there was something simple to tell you! Sorry. :(
If all else fails, can you not ask who you bought it from ..surely they'll know where it is or how?

If there is Bluetooth hardware on the machine, it has to show up under Device Manager. If it does not, then there is no hardware for it on your machine. Either that or the hardware is not functioning at all. Windows would see it otherwise. You can always buy a Bluetooth adaptor that will plug into one of your USB ports. You can buy them from Newegg for under $20.

Hi Trish, have uploaded my list of tank crackers to my DropBox it's in odt format (Open Office Document) you can download it here:https://www.dropbox.com/s/b3v82hqnwcmll8d/eCig Tank Crackers.odt

Terry, sorry know nowt really about BT, never use it although I have it on my 'puter, tend to use either wired or wireless connections for all my gear that connects to it.

In Device Manager it will show up right at the top as "Bluetooth Radios" as in this pic:

Yes i have already looked bob and there is nothing there representing bluetooth. I just can`t understand as to why it is advertised as having it, but doesn`t seem to have it.

I managed to get the bluetooth up and runnig using my adaptor, transfered some files from my sammy phone etc, only problem is the sound goes off on my lappy. It seems to use the bluetooth sound device, and although in the sound mixer, it shows the sound bar working, no sound comes out of it.

Any one know if there is a fix please. ?

Cheers trish, i am sure someone will offer a solution. It is like the speakers are conflicting with each other.eg : If i have the bluetooth adaptor plugged in, and i go to speaker settings, There is two differnt speakers, one is the laptop default and the other is bluetooth radio speakers.

It shows the mixers working, but no sound comes from it.

EDIT now got the sound working, i had to disable the bluetooth speakers, and the sound came on.

Great! :) ...what about the BT speakers ...don't you really need those? (I know zilch about B.Tooth).

No trish just one set of speakers for the whole system :) That was what the problem was, 2 sets of speakers conflicting with each other so turned off the BT one and it just uses the default lappy speakers. :D
