Are we all ready for an update then :D

When I logged off last night the ithaka was really bugging me. So even though I was knackered decided to have another play with it. I found that when I was adjusting the brass positive post connector, it was unscrewing the whole positive post. Also the top washer on the positive post is only just big enough to seal the hole that it's supposed to.

Took it all apart and just left a single stock coil in there this time, got 1.0 ohm resistance. Added an old Evod gasket to the positive post, to create a better seal, closed up the juice return system and put it all back together. Had to centralise the positive post a little and added 1/2 a tank of juice, in case it was still leaking and left it overnight.

I was at this til gone 2am

This morning no leaks, that's a good start. Vaped the 1/2 tank, no leaks, gurgles or juice in the mouth. Filled it up 1/2 way again and vaped that - still good. Found the right airflow setting for me and juice control setting - perfect. Not an amazing vape, cos I think I need to re-wick it with dual coils, cos the stock one can't really keep up with chain vaping, but good enough for now.

So I've closed the ticket with FT and told them I've got it sorted

Then I got a bit cocky. Filled the tank to the top, opened the juice control more and closed up the air control almost all the way. Golf ball through a straw again, then gurgling, then juice in the mouth :(

At least now, I know how to fix it.

1). Re-coil with dual eko-wool wicks.
2). Don't overfill the tank.
3). Don't close the airflow, cos it creates a restriction in pressure, almost like squeezing a garden hose.
4). Don't open the juice control too far.

It's put to one side for now, I would not let this thing beat me and at least I know how to fix it now. I know this will be a great vape eventually, despite the teething problems

Also Paul, I've found my tap and die set, the 510s are all sorted now mate. They work on everything now. Thanks for the offer, Paul before. Much appreciated :toast:

Well i am pleased that you are making some progress with your ithaka mate.
most of the reviews i saw about it, said it was a bit finnicky,And tbh it just looked too much of a pain for me. Even on scotts review, he didn`t seem to be producing "massive" amounts of vape.

So i am glad i cancelled mine, and chose the trident instead. Well i am just trying the liqua grape in a s/r cart, I am not getting any flavour through at all. I will let it sit and soak for a while and try it later, I think the liquid may need a bit more steeping time as well.

To be honest mate, I don't mind a bit of tinkering. I think the main problem with the ithaka is, it's not a fill up and vape product. It's probably got more adjustments than any other device out there. The main thing is, I love the look of it. I'll suss it out eventually :D

Ian take note***

A Quick Update***

Tried the liqua grape in my dripper,Really nice... (End of Update). Seriously though, it must have been the cart; it tasted vile. So dunno what happened there, but it has gone in the bin and so will the two i have got left, If they are the same.

Short and sweet update Terry

Which sort of carts are you using ?
When I was looking for carts for the Vmod, there was a massive choice. I've tried the ones that are similar to the punched DCT types, with the wool type inserts surrounding the coil and to be honest, I hated them. Ended up sticking with the vapage atty instead which is superb.

Not got the patience myself mate,

I don`t mind tinkering, but hate faffing about. That why i fell out with dct`s, You go through all the priming etc, then you get half way through a tank, and the cart decides to bum out on you.

It happened to me one time to many, and that was me done with em.

usually about 4 days isn`t it ian.

Well on the tracking it's just updated to landed in the UK on the 16th, so anytime soon now.

Once those 2 arrive, I'll only be waiting for one more. Don't know if you remember, but my last order got split into 2 cos they were re-stocking on the k100.

Have to get ready to place another order soon :D

I've decided I want to go with either a kayfun lite or a Russian 91% for a topper for the Paps. Been looking at the reviews today and everyone seems to love them

I've seen good reviews on the HH357 or H357 carts - can't remember now it was a while ago. A lot of people recommend them for the Vmod, but I don't know if they do them without the hole in the bottom for bottom feeding or not.

Boge normally seem to get good reviews too. I'd just stick with the drippers mate, you know where you are with them.

Yeah the only reason i broke out my carts, was to use them on my k100.

Guys just a quick hello and good night, only just got all the grease cleaned off my hands. Good to hear you got the threads sorted Ian and Tery is right about no room on your siggy soon...LOL!

An update

Just done some drawings for a super tanker. I thought why not, have the glass tube and the material for the ends just need the adpaters to make machining easier. My mill build is way further ahead than i thought so wil drop back to make some atty stands soon :)

I'll have to start abbreviating in the sig soon :D

Super tanker - thought you were making ecig mods mate, not massive oil carrying boats :p Glad to hear, you're mills coming along well though Paul. Thought you might have been busy in the workshop with you being absent for a while. Just make sure you don't overdo it mate, you don't want to make yourself ill, we all need a bit of down time. Now go and get my mod stand finished

Gawd he can rabbit LOL,

The russian looks the best of the two mate imo. I have got 3 of the X9 tanks coming from f/t, so i will be good for a while tank wise.

I've got the website for the Russian in favourites, but it's not in English, so I need to get it translated

Bet you got the X9s at the sale price too, unlike me :(
Did you order the ones without the airflow channels in the base (like the Protank). Cos the draw without the air channels is a lot better to be honest mate.
