Does anyone know anything about Delux E Cigarette Ecigs | E Cig Starter Kits, Liquid & More for Smokeless Cigarettes, they claim to be based out of Colorado Springs, my hometown? Something about them doesn't quite strike me as right, not the employees I'm sure (I haven't visited yet,) but just their website.

They seem to be reselling other vendors' equipment and claiming it as their own. They provide no information on batteries, and no information on the tanks either, and they seem to be overcharging for the equipment they're selling. I seem to remember reading something about a South Florida company by the name of Deluxe Cigarette getting run out of state due to shady business practices and ripping people off. We tend to get these kinds of businesses in Colorado alot, business policy enforcement here is lax, and business owners who can no longer do business in their home states seem to all flock here.

I don't know if we're supposed to discuss companies or not, but I figure if there is a rip off company out there, trying to sell knockoffs or unauthorized resells, people would want to know about it.

Some of the prices a re a little high but I really see nothing out of the ordinary, it is a very common practice to have many of these items stamped with the company name, and I dont see them trying to rename anything, egos are still called egos the vivi nova is still called a nova with VIVI clearly visible on the tank (looks like the smok version).

no claims of being authentic joyetech or vision anywhere just common egos and tanks

looks to be the typical overpriced vendor.

At a local B&M it wasn't hard to determine that all the stuff there was knock offs.

I bought a tank as a pity buy and it was labeled "Viv Nova." And, once compared to the real thing, it was a very poor knock off at that.

well in general vivi is a bad example as the name is actually a tank style not a specific brand/model.

but overall as long as a vendor isnt claiming authentic joyetech ego's when they sell knockoffs theres nothing they are doing wrong, as an ego is an ego. some are made better then others but they are all still ego's

True. Absolutely nothing in that shop was branded except their juice and they mix their own.

Went in and talked with the management, the mods and batteries are all VHit models, though I can't find specific information when searching for the models. The tanks are from various places, the tank on the mod I'm looking at is what they are calling a Solar tank, it is a bottom feeder, and it is branded Smok, from SmokTech I'm guessing. The starter kit for the 18650 mod I'm looking at is $144.95 and comes with 4 replacement wick atomizers, 1 carrying case, 1 charger, 12ml bottle of liquid, 2x batteries, and the Solar tank.
I was contemplating just jumping into a ProVari, but their starter kit doesn't come with as much and is more expensive. I know ProVari is supposed to be top of the line, but what do you guys think?

I'm looking at the hookah mod, does it look like a decent product to start with?

I couldn't recommend the hookah mod kit to start out for a few reasons:

1) Price - about double what is available from many established online resellers
2) Type - this is a mechanical mod, which does not regulate the vaping power or have built in protection from shorts, over and under discharge. Kind of dicey for a new vaper, since only certain batteries (IMR or hybrid safe chemistry) should be used
3) Quality of batteries and charger - as many basic kits offer, this is the cheapest charger available and the batteries look to be unbranded. These type of setups tend to give short life and less power.

With that said, if you have a flexible budget and want it now, it's OK.

Without knowing your preferences and experience, it's hard to say where you should start. I normally recommend an Ego Twist or Spinner with an Evod clearomiser, about $30. If you want a replaceable battery device, many of the Variable Voltage/Wattage products, combined with a couple 18650 IMR batteries and a good quality dual battery charger is a pretty good setup, still under $100 with a Protank.

I'm not saying that is a bad setup, just that dicey batteries and charger with an unprotected mechanical mod for near $150 wouldn't be what I would suggest. I think you're being sold up to a pricey setup, not what is a good place to start.

Thanks for the advice everyone. After a lot of deliberate contemplation, I decided to go ahead and take the plunge. We don't have very many options in this area yet for ecigs and mods, so overpaying was expected in my case. The place I bought the mod from controls the market in town at the moment, so unfortunately this was the best deal I could get as I didn't want to wait for an online product just yet.

All in all my purchase wasn't as much as I expected. For the full kit I got the mod casing, 4 extra atomizers (plus the one already in the tank), a 1 year warranty, a pyrex Smok brand tank, 2 batteries and a 12ml bottle of liquid. I also purchased a variety 5 pack of 6ml bottles of liquid. On top of a 15% first time customer discount I managed to get the whole thing for around $150. Expensive compared to some online products, but I was able to walk out with a full tank and ready to go product in my hand. So far I'm satisfied, but we'll see how it goes.

In regards to the unlabeled batteries and the out of date charger. The batteries actually are labeled, though they don't appear to be branded, so you are correct on that. However they are marked, these are just your standard Li ion 18650 batteries (not IMRs) pumping out 2200mAH at 3.7v. You are correct, the mod is mechanical and controlled by an ignition button. I find I take medium to large drags and rarely hold the button down for more than 10 seconds with this thing.

Replacement batteries shouldn't be a problem for me as other members have made me aware I can readily order cheaper IMR batteries online, same goes for the out of date charger, if I have any problems I'm sure someone in this awesome forum, perhaps even yourself, could point me in a good direction.

Again, thanks for checking in on the business for me everybody, this company is definitely not the same Deluxe Cigarette that got ran out of South Florida. I was actually able to personally converse with the business owner and managers, and the entire staff was very patient and answered every question I had as best they could, even though I spent two hours in their store trying flavors and contemplating the product. ^.^
