I have only had one box mod... a Bartleby... and since they are no longer being made, I was wondering if anyone who has had a Bartleby can attest to the quality of other boxmods... like Kens etc...

any advice?

I know reos are supposed to be good... but they are a bit more cost prohibitive...

this might not help you because of cost, but every Phidias user i've heard (including myself) finds the Phid to be the best hitting "3.7" pv out there...

many have speculated "why" but so far the reason seems to be in more than just the electronics... more about the draw and how the connector is snugged up to the wood.

i do happen to have an extra that i would consider parting with...btw

checking out the Phidias thread, you'll find that many many Phid Phans have multiple Phidias'... they are not just "another pretty face" PV...

Has anybody mentioned Kalamazoo Vapor Shop already? If so, I second that recommendation. I have a 5v Big KaZoo and a 3.7v JamBox and one of them is always in my hand or in my to-go kit. Both take 14500s and cost less than $40.

Today I ran errands with my BK loaded with a MAP and the Reo in the kit as a backup. The buttons are exactly the same as the Phidias, which means they're softly click-y and can be fired with your choice of finger or the flat of your hand and are why I use them. They look mighty sharp with an XL CE2 or VapeMate.

I'd buy these again and would double that purchase if James made them them with USB charging port. Tomorrow I hope a Darwin is in my mailbox primarily because of its USB and box-like shape but its not exactly easy to get or budget friendly.

Edit to add: Has anybody purchased from Ace of Vapes? Great selection of boxes over there!

I hear you about the price of the good mods, sounds kinda steep at $130-150. Still, people are willing to pay $40-50 for plastic boxes full of wires that hold no juice and need to be replaced when they eventually die. The REO Grand uses a huge battery, holds 6ml, and has no wires. As if that wasn't enough, it's made of a single brick of aluminum that will likely outlive us all. Even the switch is mechanical, so no limited lifespan.

Nothing compares, if it were me I'd drip on a 510 til I could afford a REO Grand. IMO.
