I'm gonna plug her in and hope for the best!! Since the antenna is a disused one a friendly ham donated I'm not really sure what band the antenna is designed for, it did come with an instruction manual though and should be enough to get started with before I start experimenting with dipolesThe antenna is still in me friend's car hehehe, his wife completely failed to notice it!!
Dipoles are great antennas, easy to build and work well. A rain/wind storm we had in January, knocked down a tree and it wiped out all five of my antennas. I lost an Antron 99, Cushcraft 10 meter beam, 20 meter dipole, G5RV and a 2 meter vertical. I have a new Solarcon (Antron) 99 and a G5RV MAX (204 feet long, 62.18 meters) sitting in my garage. I am going to put them up next month. I can repair the 20 meter dipole and the 10 meter beam, but I'm not sure if I am going to put them back up again.
