Facebook: in your opinion...

F ) Deactivated mine two weeks ago. I keep going through periods where I deactivate it for a while then get back on. I am officially done and I quit for good! Way too much drama, particularly putting strain on my bf & I's relationship. Ya I talked to a lot of family members and friends on there but they will just have to find another way to contact me.

F) I know exactly what FB is but I've never used it and never will as I can remember FB banning a few ecig shops, I don't like the way it becomes mandatory in many occasions and monopolies aren't allowed, it's absolutely futile for most people and promotes futility and I hate to see groups of friends or families sitting at the restaurant and no one's talking, everyone's just using FB. It may have been a good idea but it's definitely become sour...

But it's not so much talking with old friends and family, it's just seeing what they're up to. Most of my facebook "friends" are people I went to highschool (30 years ago) and College (25 years ago). People I wouldn't see or call, but am still interested in what's going on with their lives.

D I guess. I ran a BBS in the late '80's and I'm very much interested in the idea of 'electronic communication'. When I was trying to maintain 'e-mail and voice-mail contact' with some very dear friends of mine in Southern Maryland after I moved to Southern West Virginia, I was told "You should get on Facebook, everyone here is using it". Eventually I gave in and created an account there. I was slightly delighted that it was also now 'easier' to stay in touch with some family members that I haven't seen in 35+ years. Then I was friends again with a couple people from my High School days that I was friends with before.. After 5 or 6 years, I now have more 20 friends when I was only expecting to have 4 or 5.. Two extensions (NoScript and AdBlock Latitude) keep ads at bay just about everywhere, and the program Social Fixer makes Facebook a little 'less of a hassle to use' for me.

    F FB!!

Yeah, G+, Twitter, and all the others are also sucky, but FB is supremely bad.

I read an article a few years ago detailing how CVS uses customer's pharmaceutical purchases to show relevant drug ads to FB users. WHAT???? Yeah, it was a detailed article, explaining how they got around the HIPPA laws to do this. I was livid. At the time, I was using CVS for my prescriptions - stopped using my card there, and eventually moved prescriptions to a locally owned pharmacy.

A quick search didn't turn up the original article I read, but here's a few others that detail the problems with FB and your medical privacy :
