D I guess. I ran a BBS in the late '80's and I'm very much interested in the idea of 'electronic communication'. When I was trying to maintain 'e-mail and voice-mail contact' with some very dear friends of mine in Southern Maryland after I moved to Southern West Virginia, I was told "You should get on Facebook, everyone here is using it". Eventually I gave in and created an account there. I was slightly delighted that it was also now 'easier' to stay in touch with some family members that I haven't seen in 35+ years. Then I was friends again with a couple people from my High School days that I was friends with before.. After 5 or 6 years, I now have more 20 friends when I was only expecting to have 4 or 5.. Two extensions (NoScript and AdBlock Latitude) keep ads at bay just about everywhere, and the program Social Fixer makes Facebook a little 'less of a hassle to use' for me.
