After the initial cost of buying cotton, kanthal and PG and VG some NIC and flavors. You will start to save a lot. Havent had to buy anything else unless i just want to buy an new flavor to mix. I get my flavors from wizardlabs and just mix away. vaping 3 to 5 mls for juice last longer and is cheaper than buy a pack a day or more.

I mix my own juice- costs about $6 a MONTH
(I personally found it very easy and didn't experience any 'learning curve')

cost of rebuilding attys is very minimal <$1 a month

$30 worth of batteries every 2 or 3 years

mods- buy quality and you can sell it and get your money back if you don't like it

yeah, I've saved tons of money... I was spending $200 a month on cigs

Since Saturday, I have spent $150 on vape stuff. NO WAY could I spend $150 for ANYTHING when I was smoking, so I guess I must be saving money -- there's money available for all this vape stuff I need/want, and the only place that money could be coming from is... not buying cigarettes!!!!!!!

In all honesty i really don't care if it costs me more.
I would have paid even bigger bucks back when i started vaping than i have,if i knew back then how good i would be feeling today..

Over budget or under budget, feeling this healthy and feeling all around good and having a new outlook on life..
that's as priceless as it gets and then some.:D

I often post some version of "what everyone above me said" just to see my sign and see what my dollar and analog total is up to. If we were to graph it out with time on the X axis and cost (weekly or monthly spending average) on the Y, you'd see one fairly stable line (amount spent on analogs) that remains more or less flat, and a sharp upward curve on vaping-related purchases that will eventually turn downward and then flatline. When the vaping line crosses the analog line and flatlines below it, that's the point when true savings over time begin. I am convinced the curves will meet and savings will begin in the near future; my biggest spending so far and projected to the near future is centered on exploring new flavors. Once I establish a solid 'rotation' I suspect the costs will drop sharply; maintenance of juice supply, maintenance of replacement heads and such, and the occasional exploratory juice purchase. I don't see myself becoming a gear hobbyist, so my 'cost intersection' will likely happen sooner than most.

^^^ Exactly. We need to be able to chart that, to reduce the influence of those who get shiny fever. I see some social pressure that way, with people showing off their collections of APV's.

*snort* I was just sitting here thinking of getting a new pic since I got the Sigelei+Hypertank. I'll wait till I get the batteries for it though, it seems like it doesn't really "count" till it's actually usable. :D

I was curious about this the other day, so I tallied up everything I've bought in the past 3 months, and then compared the total to the number in my signature. So far I have spent around $300, and I would've spent about $750 on cigs, which means I've saved around $450. Also I didn't have an exact number for what I've spent on e-juice, so I rounded up a bit (in other words the $300 spent is probably more than I've really spent).

The best part is that I will be spending around $150 in the next week or so, and even after that I will still be well under what I would've spent on analogs. Not to mention the stuff I will be buying should last me quite awhile, as I'll be getting an MVP2 & VV3, a couple PT2's, an Aerotank or Nautilus, and then everything I need to start rebuilding (wicks/cotton, kanthal, etc).

Oh and just something that occured to me when I read the OP... Even if you have spent more on vaping than you would've on analogs, it's quite a bit different. Considering that vaping equipment doesn't turn to ash/butts soon after you buy it :D
