E-smokers all comment on how much better they are breathing after switching to e-cigs.

But I am curious to know if they have seen significant improvements in verifiable health data, such as chlorestorol levels, blood oxygen rates, blood pressure, heart rate, etc, etc.

Particularly interested to hear from long-term e-smokers.

Not sure, but I'm going back to the doctor in about 2 months, and I'll be getting all my levels checked again.

Hopefully, I'll have some good data to look at. I was previously tested about a week before I got the e-cig, so it should be pretty telling.

I was a 30-a-day Marlboro smoker until my first heart attack in 1991. Since then and until about 6 months ago I smoked a pipe in the mistaken belief it was better for me than cigarettes and subsequently had another 3 (less serious) heart attacks and really crippling angina pain. I now vape and as if by magic I very rarely suffer from Angina and even when I do it is far less painful and much more easily controlled. If there was ever a good reason to give up tobacco this has to be it - especially when you can still get satisfaction for the nicotine craving from ecigs! People now remark on how well I look (except first thing in the morning) compared to when I was on the pipe. I'm not as breathless either & find I can walk a bit further than I could before.

blood pressure is great. I was smokin 2 packs a day. I had a chronic cough for months. GONE a week after I started vaping. Also, more energized, less lazy ( I was smoking way too much). Been vaping 3 months, absolutly NO side effects besides a hole in my wallet. I work out 5 times a week, I can run an extra 3 miles without feeling like death. Great experience for me thus far.

I ran across a parking lot and didn't die. Really I used not to be about to run more than about 40 yard and i would be out of breathe,15 yrs smoking. Now I can run probably a quarter mile hard, not much but alot better. I have also notice having more of a glow to my skin like i had before i smoked, instead of the pale grayish complexion I was used to.

When i first switched I had probably two weeks of being able to visibly see the difference in my skin tone, less gray and more glowey just like Jaded said. I could feel this happen, my skin felt warm and flushed for a few days after swtiching over to vaping.

Now my blood pressure has fallen and stabilized and that's with lots of chain vaping between 12 and 24mg. I seriously never put my PV down...ever.

I've been vaping for 3 months, and my dentist noticed a huge difference in the health of my gums. My blood pressure has dropped from just under hypertension to almost normal. My sinuses have cleared up for the most part.(I always had a stuffy nose for years and couldn't breath through my nose if I wanted to...) I can breath better with no coughing and have more stamina, and I have also lost a few pounds!
I always knew analogs were bad for you, but I had no idea that they did damage to so many areas of my health.

Here and back
I smell better, my car smells worse (I can now smell it) why would clients even get in it??? Those poor folks. Looks like a detail job in my future.
I don't hack and cough in the mroning. I don't snore. I can vape anywhere in the house, office or husbands car.

Bad things - I'm sleepy, less energy and this week have lost my voice entirely, that's never happened before. Rest assured, there is a bright side, my husband is tickeled that I can't speak.

My dream is to convince BCBS that I no longer smoke and my rates should go down, perhaps I'll be treated in the future as something slightly less than a lepor.

I have a family history of cholesterol levels well into the 300s by 50 years old. Mine was climbing steadily-started at 178, 5 yrs. later was at 205. I quit smoking in April, had it tested in Sept. and it was at 173! WoooHooo! Made me VERY happy! My heart rate is down nicely, too. It use to test at 90-100 beats a minute pretty regularly. Now it is usually around 65. My blood pressure has also dropped a little bit and holding nicely well within the normal range. :) I am very happy.
I was a 2 pack a day smoker for 34 years. I use about 2-3 ml. of 24-30mg. VG juice a day. I've been using my ecig since Jan. 2009. Quit smoking in April.

I chain-vape 36 mg liquid.

My blood pressure as decreased slightly 130 / 90 to 125 / 85.

The biggest benefit is to my circulatory system (I have written a post on it). Here it is:

It is well known that cigarettes have a negative effect on the body’s circulatory system and that nicotine, by itself, constricts the blood vessels. Here is my story.

About four years ago, I got a relatively extreme case of frostbite on three of my toes. The tips of my three toes are “permanently” black/purple and completely numb. In addition, one of them frequently fills with fluid which indicates poor circulation. It should be noted that when the toe fills with fluid it throbs and is quite painful.

Since I quit smoking by using my e-cig exclusively, my toe has not filled with fluid or hurt. Over the first few weeks of being smoke free I hoped that my circulation was improving because my toes felt better; however, they did not look better. At this time, I was not sure if this was a coincidence or evidence that my circulation was improving.

Over the last week (54 days smoke free), I have been observing changes with my toes. The back/purple portions are decreasing dramatically and I am starting to get a bit of feeling back in them. I am ecstatic, not only because my toes are getting better after all these years, but also due to the fact that, yes, nicotine may not be great for your circulatory system but it appears to be significantly less harmful then smoking.

I always knew that smoking and nicotine had a negative effect on the body’s circulatory system but did not know the relative effects of the two.

In conclusion, nicotine may have a negative effect on the circulatory system, but it is extremely less dramatic when compared to the effects cigarette smoke.

As of now, the purple color is gone and they have been improving every week.
Overall, my circulatory system has greatly improved since I started vaping and quit smoking.

Wow! did not know the impact of nicotine on blood circulation is so great.

For me, is asthma. Within the last ten years, my consumption of ventolin inhaler increased from one-tube per 6 months to one-tube per 1 month. Since vaping 8 months ago, I have yet to finish the tube that I started 7 months ago. My lungs is rejuvenating...

Nicotine actually has a negative effect on blood flow and circulation (constrict blood vessels). However, when compared to cigarette smoke, it is much less detrimental. To be honest, I am really shocked how less detrimental it is. For years my toes have gotten progressively worse while I smoked. Now they are dramatically better and continue to improve as time passes.

That is great to hear about your lungs--mine also feel much better.
