Anyone tried a tank setup with their Volt?

Hi all,

Been trying some flavors from different juice companies, found a few (all 100% VG so far) that have joined SI's RY4 and Classic Grape as my favorites. The problem that I'm having is that sometimes the VG doesn't perform perfectly in a regular SI carto. All the PG juices I've tried work great but I'm really liking a few of these VG juices. I performed the carto drip mod on one of my empty Volt cartos and it works great for dripping and testing flavors (can be a bit messy sometimes but much better than filling an entire carto only to find I don't like it) but I hate dripping more than a few times, just too much hassle for me personally.

What I'm looking for is some sort of tank setup that I can use to enjoy my VG juices to their fullest potential (I'm willing to slot/punch cartos if needed, I know it's often required for VG juices).

I'm not really interested in diluting with PGA or PG, I know it improves wicking issues but I don't want the diluted flavor!

Anyone have any experiences they could share?

I don't see why you wouldn't be able to buy a tank setup that would house a normal length carto and use something like this with it: BOGE 808D Stainless Cartomizers

Might be worth shopping around for an actual 808 tank kit just to make sure gaskets/o-rings are the right size for the carto going down the center. Make sure the cartos you get are stainless, and don't go too far down in terms of ohm ratings...I'd say above 2.4 ohms for the SI batteries.

You know, the necessity to buy stainless is more a lazy thing I think than anything else. If you took a hair dryer and heated up the wrapper to peel it off, there shouldn't be too much adhesive left on the stainless carto beneath...from there a little bit of elbow grease and water (a little bit ;)) and all the adhesive should come off, allowing you to slot / punch it and put it in a tank.

It would be cool if SI put out their own tank system though...but on the slim batts, boy oh boy it'd look interesting, lol.

Just checked out that thread again and saw this:

one thing we are getting for sure is XL VOLT blank cartos in stainless they are about 10mm longer

It'd be super easy to use one of those in a Smoktech tank. Just discard the DCC that comes with it and insert the slotted Volt XL.

ok well I can't say much... but... There will be something coming out in a few weeks for the MaXx batts aside from the regular and XL cartos ;) It is a custom modification on something that already exists we are testing them now :)

Well Imagine, I know that testing can be very streneous and if you need to outsource any of it...I'm here to help! :)

Alright, had to try it.

Smoktech 3.5ml tank, Smoktech 1.7ohm carto (I only took one drag, don't use these on your volt, really...), ECBlend RY4 on an SI Volt 78mm manual, and yeah, I used an 808 to 510 adapter.

I would recommend Goo Gone for the removal of the sticker adhesive, while it's toxic as well as WD40, to me personally, a citrus blend seems "safer" versus a water displacer that I use on my cars lol. Moreover, I have had better luck with a cold carto vs a carto that was warm from vaping when it comes to removing the sticker, far less tacky and adhesive left behind. Think ice cubes on gum that's stuck on the carpet or the liquid portion of compressed CO2 on chewing gum.
