I would think by removing that silicone sleeve that it would leak big time? I've had flooding by removing two of the three flavor wicks, so I put them back and do as skelley suggested and tighten just until the post hits that silicone cap. If it leaks tighten a little more.

I've been using a Kanger T3 for about a week, vaped 3 or 4 fills through it an have really been impressed with the amount of vapor and the increase in airflow versus the short and long wicked Vision tank-clearomizers I've tried. I've been using a current version of the Mini Nova concurrently, finding that the T3 is just a bit more able to be constantly vaped with no breaks and not give a dry hit as easily.

I tried turning around the silicone boot but found that I did get gurgling that I thought would lead to leakage. I yanked out the tiniest sliver of wick material, like 1% or 2% of the total diameter or something. I got leakage. Even with the silicone cap installed as received.

But I found the very best results to be from as Rattman said just making sure you tighten enough to have the silicone cap make the seal, but not more. Seems if it's not overtightened, the airflow is even slightly increased, yet without leakage or much gurgling, and the amount of vapor and juice flavor that comes through is greatly increased. Much less chance of a dry hit.

[EDIT: oh, I get it now. I saw a page back that Rattman got converted to the upside down silicone cap camp so I tried it again too. Not sure if my leaking before was from the cap not sitting quite right or from me having failed to tighten it enough, but I got it flipped upside down now, tightened very tight, zero leaks, and the flavor is even better than before with even less of a hint of a dry hit. Very nice.]

Well I was hesitant to do this as I thought it would flood the atty. I was on second tankful after rewicking the coil and was getting dry hits and thought what the hell. All I can say is wow! No more dry hits wicked flavor, th. This place rocks! Thanks!

The upside down cup mod has been working great the last three days. I thought I was going to have to throw out this coil assembly, but now it's working great. I love these T3s.

I'd like to see a screw on top cap, something that gives you the option of using your own drip tips. Something like on the Apollo tanks. Other than that, these work pretty well I think.

While using your own drip tip would be nice, the air tube appears to be glued to the inside of the mouthpiece. If they made the mouthpiece removable, there would be more places for it to leak. I'm happy with it just the way it is.

OK, I finally figured out how to rebuid the wicks (I think ?). Using some of the advise on this thread, I removed the top post and the old wicks. I took about 8" of ordinary cotton twine like I use in my vegetable garden and seperated 4 fibers. Using a needle-threader donated from my wife's sewing kit, I threaded the coil wick and cut with cuticles, leaving 8 fibers in the coil. Then I doubled the remaining fibers and replaced the top post and trimmed to size. That leaves 8 cotton fibers through the coil and 8 more on top. I'm getting the same draw as a new coil and no leakage throught the coil so far. If I can do this I'm sure anyone else can ! Looks like I might be sticking with these T3 for awhile !

Hi there Centurion, I cannot take any of the credit I'm just passing on the great info that I'm learning here!

these (or any other clearomizer) just isnt for me i guess. for a while, i thought these could be the answer ive been looking for...but after a day or so, i realize its a pipe dream. first i got dry hits, i unscrewed the bottom a bit and it vaped fine...for almost an hour, then i got gurgling and my fingers got juice on them (leaking from bottom). then i took the white silicone gasket and turned it upside down...not good, major flooding. i put the gasket back the way its supposed to be....and removed the flavor wick. for a full tank, it worked like a charm. second tank..constant gurgling and leaking.

i must be destined to use my trusty boges (which work fine) but im always in the hunt for a fool proof clearo...but for me, it doesnt exist.

finally i got so fed up with the temprament of the unit (and myself) and tossed it in the garbage, including an un-opened coil. im jus so tired of fiddling, why cant they come up with a "ready to vape out the box" for me? i dont know.

Odd. I have NO experience with clearos or cartos or tanks.... The T3 is the first I've tried and I'm having none of the problems you've encountered. I would've at least tried the unopened coil before I trashed everything just to see if it helped. But, then again, my wife says I'm so tight when I die they'll just screw me into the ground..... maybe you'll find something you enjoy in a bottom feed mod ?

When you turned the cup seal upside down, where did it leak? The only way I see for this to cause a leak is the seal was somehow crooked or if the coil assembly wasn't tightened down enough.

i dont know for sure, but i suspect it was leaking into the coils through the wicks. i think the silicone cap is there for a reason, not just to seal the gap between the coil post and intake tube but also to regulate the liquid going into the coils (hence the skirt on the silicone). thats just my guess though.

the first coil gave me dry hits and the second gurgled and flooded the battery post...every now and then when i refilled it, i got liquid on my shirt from the mouth piece....thats when i grabbed the remaining coils and tossed it all. i dont have much patience for this kind of stuff.

I always get some juice down the tube into the mouth pc when I turn it upside down and refill, not so much since I flipped the silicone cap. I just blow through the tank before I refill it into a tissue. Not a biggy. I'm loving these things. Hey can you fish them out of the garbage and send them to me? lol

You have just described my exactly the same experience with T3. Kinda disappointed.

There's a certain amount of tweaking in everything vaping related. Unfortunately few things are tweak free. Most of wicking issues are related to heat and liquid density, and in the case of the T3 internal pressure. If the pressure is too big and the liquid thin, and vaped at low voltages, leftover liquid gets sucked up the tube producing gurgling. How to solve this? I'm still trying to find out. As in every first gen device, most probably kinks will get worked up.

It is a much better vape than the T2 or even the Vivi Nova. I'll compare the three in upcoming week. For the time being, it's a keeper, much easier to clean than the T2 (that requires everything to be dry before using) or the Vivi Nova (the heads last me less than 15 days, with careful cleaning and dry burning).

Update: I finally wore out the T3 I have been using since 10/3/12. The wick is what wore out. The coil is still in good shape. I will probably save it and re wick it at some point.

I just broke my coil(my fault) rewicking it.Had it over a month now, and if I was more gentle it wouldn't have broke. Still have a lot to learn! Guess its time to start making my own coils, just ordered some wire. Let the fun begin!:toast:

If you get a chance, do a write up on this with some pictures and post us the link here. It'd be cool to see how this works, as I've never tried to recoil anything, but I love this device and might give it a shot.
