I’ve been using my T3 with eGo-C batteries exclusively for almost two months now, and I’ll probably continue to use it for the foreseeable future. I’ve had my ups and downs with it, and there’s definitely been a learning curve. I’m starting to learn how this thing ticks now, and which little mods fix the problems I’ve had.
My first coil assembly worked great from the beginning. No dry hits, no gurgling, it just worked. I just rinsed the coil and wicks under warm water every couple of days, and everything was fine. The only real problem I had with it was that after a few weeks, it started turning my
juice dark. From reading this thread, I kinda figured that it needed to be dry burned. Unfortunately, when I removed the air tube to dry burn it, I somehow lost the loose “flavor” wicks. Since I had three replacement coils, I put a new one on my T3.
My second coil has been the problem child. From day one, I started getting burnt tasting hits. It wasn’t real bad, but definitely had to be fixed. People on this thread kept saying that loosening up the coil would stop the cup seal from squeezing the wicks, and help with dry hits. GIMike suggested cutting little notches in the cup seal, so that it didn’t touch the wicks. The cup seal is pretty small and soft. Since my utility knife wasn’t real sharp, I couldn’t seem to cut the notches. After looking at it for a while, I realized that if I just turned the cup seal upside down, it would accomplish the same thing. This stopped the dry hits, and my T3 worked great for a while.
After a couple of weeks, I started having what seemed like an air flow problem. The vapor production would drop off dramatically. I found that if I loosened up the coil momentarily, and then re-tightened it, everything would go back to normal for a while. After again reading this thread, I removed one of the “flavor” wicks. This seemed to fix one problem, but caused another one. Now, when I vaped the
tank down to about .8ml, liquid would flood the battery real bad until I refilled the
tank.
Trainguy059 suggested to me that I could replace the flavor wicks on my first coil with one piece of 2mm wick. I dry burned my second coil real good and used the 2mm wick in place of the original flavor wicks. Now my second coil is working great. No dry hits, no gurgling, and I can vape the tank dry.
Sorry about the long post. I wanted to put down everything I’ve learned in one place, instead of just little bits and pieces.
