So this was my first morning use an vap, and gotta say that the first vap of the day is not nearly as satisfying as the first "analog" of the day was. I am using 18mg, but when I inhale enough to feel any kind of fullness in the lungs, I feel enough harshness in the throat that I feel like coughing. Is this harshness what y'all refer to as th? In any event, would like to feel that fullness in my lungs of real smoke, without feeling it so much in my throat; is this possible?

Yes, that harshness you are talking about is the throat hit. Are you using 100% PG juice? if so, you might want to switch to a 80/20 or 70/30 mix. When I was still using nic, I used a 50/50 mix, because I really do not like throat hit much, but some find that that takes too much of it away. You will also get more vapor to fill the lungs with a bit more VG put in your mix.

It is also very likely that you haev not yet hit on the exact right way to inhale. I know that sounds kinda funny, but it is not the same as inhaling a cigarette, and it can take a while to learn exactly what kind of inhale gives you want you need. After vaping for a few weeks, I learned that keeping my lips looser around the cart, and doing a nice long inhale gave me exactly what I wanted. practice different ways to drag til you get the feel you want.

I am using an eGo-T (JOYE eGo-T) with 18mg juice (USA MARBELO 2 Smoke Juice / E-Liquid 30ml Bottle) 60% PG / 40% VG.

Interestingly enough, I find doing slower inhales better, as that allows me to get more vapor in less volume; when I inhale deeply, it is when I get the th. What I guess I am really looking for is "chest hit". Actually, what I am really looking for is that almost euphoric feeling I get from the first cigarette of the day; perhaps I will keep a cart of super-high nicotine content around just for the first vape of the day.

that could very likely help. I know what you are talking about now. Sadly, nothing can imitate it perfectly, so you have to learn to love the alternative just as much! some good strong 24, or even 36mg juice might give you what you are looking for. But remember, that yoru body does not absorb nicotine the same way vaping that it does with smoking, so you may have to just learn to appreciate the new way. Hopefully you can get it close enough to keep ya happy though!

It's difficult to get the first morning smoke buzz from an e-cig because of how the nicotine is delivered. It only takes 5 sec for nicotine to hit the brain through a tobacco cigarette, but can take up to a minute or so through vaping. The only time I've gotten that buzzed feeling was when I was testing out a LR 306 atomizer and it hit so much harder than what I was using even at 18mg nic strength.

I tend to go for a strong tobacco first thing in the morning for my first fix of the day. My throat is usually dry when I first wake up so I really feel the hit.

LR 306! You have to try at least one of them. They're my favorite but be sure to always keep them nice and wet. I swear you can almost hit it just like a cigarette (short drag) and still get just about the same satisfaction. Two of the best places to get these from are Cisco (AvidVapers) and Ikenvape. I've always used the 1.5 ohms but there are 1.8 and 2.0 ohms out now as well. Those will probably last longer but I can't say how good they are.

I second the 306 atomizer with a drip tip. The 2.0 ohm attys are supposed to be even better than the standard, but I've found the standard atty to be a great vape. You can screw it right on to your Ego battery.

One other thing, the nicotine in a cigarette is carried into your lungs on tiny smoke particles (actual products of combustion). The lungs can absorb nic that way, but they don't absorb much from the vapor produced in an Ecig. To get the most nic hit from an ecig, french inhale (draw the vapor into the mouth and then push it out and inhale it into the nose) or just inhale into the lungs and exhale out through your nose. The soft tissues of the mouth and the sinuses absorb far more nic than the lungs. You can, as an alternative, draw it into your mouth and hold it a while before exhaling and get nic absorption without even inhaling. That's how snus or smokeless tobacco works. You will get dryness of the mouth by doing that since PG absorbs water.

When I first started surfing this forum, I was a little confused by all the talk of throat hit; I never really thought or cared about that when I smoked. It was all about the "chest hit", as you put it. That heavy feeling, that weight in my lungs, was one of the things I most loved about smoking. Unlike your experience, however, from my first e-cig to the eGo I'm using now, I got that chest hit in spades. That was what made me believe that vaping could really work for me. I wonder if you might need to switch to a different atty or start dripping? I dripped from day one, because my research here on ECF seemed to indicate that a lot of vapers ended up doing that after messing with carts and cartos for a while, so I figured why not start that way? As for the morning nicotine buzz - I never, ever got that from my cigarettes anyway (and I smoked HARSH cigs - non-filters and hand-rolled for years), so I didn't expect it from vaping either. Honestly, it kinda' surprised me when I got on here and saw so many people talking about it. Now I feel like I missed out! Not that I'd go back to it for anything in the world!
