Tried making some tiger wire with 28g nichrome & .8x1mm kanthal ribbon... couldn't get it very tight, kept breaking. I was thinking to try it with the 26g, but it's already a little lower in resistance than I was hoping for. Will try a few more things, as tiger wire has always been my favorite.
But my triple twisted 30g kanthal is amazing! Might try twisting up the nichrome, and will definitely try making some clapton once I have a bit more practice. FUN!

I expect you would be fine not twisting your tiger wire really tight. I don't twist mine super tight. I just try to get it consistent from piece to piece so both coils heat up evenly. I may experiment some more with some looser twists to see if any appreciable change.

He did mention though that he was begging jd tech to make more. I want to be sure tom is completely done with em for good before I do any. This is his turf and I have no intention of disrespecting his space.

I had a little accident in the workshop today and have managed to hurt myself. Got a broken finger and some metal that is gonna take surgery to remove. Soooo.....i may be a little slow getting things done for a bit[emoji57] I will be able to do some light work. Hopefully attys and buttons and maybe make some small parts for the mods.
