i really need to get a hold of some rayon to try out. i keep hearing about it but i have soooo much ... cotton its hard to justify buying more wick material
imo rayon is much better than cotton, break-in time IF there is any, is very short. And best of all, no cotton taste.

I tried it and it was meh... of course, I MTL only, and get the best flavor from anything with the coils almost touching the airholes (necessary, I'm guessing, because of the restricted airflow) I could see it working a little better with lots of air from both sides. But not for me :D
I'm MTL only too. Can I ask what your favorite attys are at the moment?

I definitely prefer rayon. I do taste it for a few ml after rewick but my diy juices are very light on flavoring.

i agree. i am really liking the rayon. some awesome cat gifted me some . i fear my lifetime supply of cotton will have to be replaced with rayon now.

Well shoot, I have some that someone gifted me as well. I have always been reluctant to try it. May have to give it a go now.

Chalice 3 & Nuppin are still at the top. I really like the Stumpy as well (but in order to reduce the airflow enough for me, I have to plug up the single coil holes... I could go off on a long rant about how much this annoys me- it happens with a lot of attys) and the Nectar Micro. I really loved the reactor, but sold it because no AFC.
You? I am always open to suggestions, and getting tired of buying attys and selling them right away because AIRFLOW!
Seems like there are so few of us anymore.
I really wish there was a thread somewhere just for MTLer & the attys we love. Maybe I should start one.

Have you tried the 14 mm bf atty from delaniemod in spain? Forgot what it's called but todd did a review on it and said it was good albeit a pain to build on. It had afc iirc

The main thing with rayon is to pack it tight in the coils cause it shrinks unlike cotton which swells when wet. Also is helpful with rayon to thin the tails out. rayon wicks super fast and thinning tails helps even more.

I need to find an atty that has huge airflow now. Im going to try unflavored nic base to save money. Ideally a clone would be perfect. I got 3 reo's with 3 derringers and j can't be much happier with vaping besides of curiosity with every atty that I csnt afford. Or the latest mod I'd like lol. Any recommendations? When I dripped I used a clone mephisto v2, and s mutation x v2. I prefer my attys to come with delrin wide bore tips like the mutation x v2 does.

I have a copper Memphisto v2 on my bench I was gonna demo. If you want it after I try it out for a day or two you are welcome to it. It's ready to go I just need to use it for a day or two to see if i should order more.

I also have a demo unit velocity clone in black that really has big airflow. It has a factory bf pin in it that has been modified.

The Memphisto is a much better quality atty IMO.

+1 for the Mephisto clone - it's a goody. If you like it for dripping, it'll do the trick for squonking. Super sized post holes that can accommodate most any build, but you know that.

The Dark Horse has tons of air, as does the velocity. Rob also has the Vector clone now - very decent air plus no leaks (top air). I think fasttech has bf Mut clones, too.

The stumpy is a great little atty. I'm running one with a single 26g 2mm ID, side mounted (close to the air intake) on a Sunbox. The thing screams vapor and flavour, both of which surprised the heck out of me.

The build couldn't be easier, and the results put many another atty to shame. I tried the overhead monocoil that Russ and others champion and it's very good, but not appreciably better than the simple single side coil.

Is it better than the Derringer? I'd say slightly, in terms of flavour, dead tie for vapor production, and definitely with respect to build flexibility (more deck space to play with). There's also a reduced chance of post loosening/rotation due to the design.
I agree with all of the above and would add that it is MUCH less likely to leak.

I've had the same issues and frustrations with afc and it seems that the number of MTLers are dwindling, so our type of attys are not so plenty, especially in the larger diameters. The Nectar is the first 22mm that I'm positive will always be on at least one mod. I liked it enough to get a 3rd. So right now, it's Chalice and Nectar. I love the size (perfect!) of the Nuppin, but I couldn't get a satisfactory vape from it so I sold it. I don't have the patience for tricky or temperamental attys. If I can't get a good vape from the first build, it gets set aside or sold.
Let me know if you start a thread. I'd definitely subscribe.
Long live MTLers
