The good news is the budget authentic market is getting much better. The tsunami has me really excited.

Indeed, so much so the some of the high end boys should be looking over their collective shoulders.

I haven't used a tank in a year and a half but the griffin has been calling my name. My first reo retired my kayfuns in very short order[emoji6]

I wanted to try some new gear & got burnt out hunting for squonkers so I picked up a few tanks which lead to a few dna 200's....I've enjoyed the journey & having fun mixing it up now depending on my mood.

Have a Griffin sitting here that I haven't got around to building yet, but for right now I've been using the Crowns and Rafale's with the RBA units and enjoying the hell out of them.

The Griffin and Avocado both work incredibly well. I couldn't believe they could each keep up with fairly heavy vaping. I needed something for these Reuleaux DNA200 devices I had already bought.

I wanted a Petri v2 and Chowder Tom has them avail now. I did some research and found that they sourced them to China. Maybe just me, but I'm not paying $100 for a China atty. Might even be made in a "FastTech Factory". lol
It does make you wonder if other "authentics" are being produced this way.

How do they do at high wattage? The only non-squonk rig I own is a series box and it's pretty salty with a .5 build on it[emoji46]

The Avocado I've been running about 40 Watts, but have gone as high as 60 Watts on the Griffin.

I've run my Griffin on a series box. It actually kicks some serious .... ontop of it.

I run my Avocado at 40w with a single SS Clapton coil & it does great. I run the Griffin with dual twisted SS 316L coils at 55w with great results. If you can build it the Griffin will keep up.

I inherited an avocado from a mate at work who fell in love with some other gear (it was a payback, he said, for me helping him with building and such).

Tried it out this weekend on a naughty getaway with the wife. The thing is solid - no disgrace next to a decent squonk setup. Essentially, it's a new-ish take on a genny, so the actual vaporization chamber is just like most 22mm RDA's. In that league, it's good but not great (IMHO).

My build was dual claptons netting .3 ohms, which were manhandled by the rolo rx200 I got for a loaner.

I am, however, very tempted to jump on this ChiNaRDA list. Don't hate me, but I was one of the lucky 25 or so who scored an authentic in Tom's run - biiiiig fan of the atty. It seems simple enough a design that I'm thinking the clone should/could be very acceptably similar in performance and build quality.

IMHO (and this might be an unpopular view), clones don't hurt the OEM modders that much, at least with respect to very high end, limited production atties.

NaRDA's and M-Atties (and NoPity's and Vipers and...) will sell out, so the originator's business plan is met. If their plan was to carpet bomb the world with their product, then they failed, but if they wanted an upscale boutique brand and zero inventory, then the clones don't really interfere with that.

All the Louis Vuitton bags sold on the Bund in Shanghai don't stop that brand's appeal or channel scarcity (ie., sales of the original). Higher ups at LV say it's because the people buying the "replicas" were either not going to buy the original anyway and/or don't undermine the demand to make a difference to them.

A guy who makes a killer atty at a great price and wants to put thousands into the market but is undercut by a cloner, well, that's a crying shame. But from what we've seen from the NaRDA and M-Atty folks, they seem to be right on target for their plans, such as they are.
